Symposium for Women and Gender Minorities in Mathematics in Southern California

NEWS: 2025 WiMSoCal will take place at 

California State University, Fullerton 

on 

February 8th, 2025 (Saturday)

The symposium will provide an opportunity for women and gender-nonconforming individuals in mathematics in the Southern California area to get to know each other on a personal as well as professional level. 


Our aim is to create a network of mathematicians in the Southern California area in order to nurture collaborations and provide a framework for mentoring. These relationships can facilitate mathematicians branching into new areas of mathematics, exploring the variety of ways of contributing mathematically to society and the profession, and maintaining a healthy, balanced life.

The symposium is free and light breakfast and lunch will be provided. This event is made possible partly by the Pitzer College Agnes Moreland Jackson Diversity Program Fund.

Registration Deadline:  January 26th, 2024


Abstract submission: You can give a 20-min talk on your research, or an expository talk describing a problem of interest, please include a title and an abstract in your registration. Talks describing interesting approaches to classroom teaching are also welcome. Abstract received by January 19th, 2024 (Friday) will have priority for consideration.
