Our Admission Policy

We welcome children and families irrespective of their gender, race, and disability (refer to special need policy), religion or belief. William Patten daycare operates an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

At William Patten Daycare we have an open admissions policy welcoming every child from 12 months to 5 years (We also provide after school club for children up to 8 years).

In order for children to feel comfortable with the Nursery environment and to settle in well, we require a minimum attendance of 2 full days per week, or a minimum 12 hours part-time shift. Funded children will attend the daycare on negotiable hours (11 funded hours per week on a 52-week basis).

It may be necessary sometimes to put children on our waiting list. This is operated in accordance with our admission policy and with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy. We endeavour to place all children as soon as possible for the days requested.

We aim to work with parents to best meet their child's needs and ensure a smooth transition from home into daycare. To help us with this, parents are required to complete a consent form, particular attention is given to identifying any special needs their child has. All information supplied by parents is treated in confidence (Please see our Records, Information Sharing and Confidentiality policy).
