Part 4: Binary Bracelets

Now, we will also be making binary bracelets. Our bracelets will have the first letter of our first name on them. For example, my bracelet will have "M" for Maddie on it... in binary!

Materials:

  • String

  • 8 beads (2 different colors)

Step 1:

Look for the letter of your first initial on the binary alphabet. Copy the code on a piece of paper. Here is an example I drew of M in binary code. I didn't have a black marker, so I used brown instead.

Step 2:

Choose one color bead to represent the white squares and a different color to represent the black squares.

For example, I am using pink for black squares, and yellow for white squares.

Step 3:

Cut a length of string to fit your wrist (with a few extra inches added on). Make a triple knot to start the bracelet. Then, string each of the beads on in the correct order. Tie the bracelet on your wrist once you're done!

That spells FUN in binary :)
