Cut out rectangles. You may want to glue two or three together to get a sturdy mat.

Decorate the mat with crayons or paints. You could keep your colored pencils handy and draw while waiting for your dessert!

You can make different placemats for each day of the week, special occasions.... and when they get dirty, then you can throw the well-used paper in the recycling bin.
