RULES
Follow the USGA rules, Wildwood Green Rules and the following WildOats exceptions.
You may lift, clean and place the ball no more than ONE Foot in your own fairway, no closer to the hole
Note: If the course conditions dictate that carts are restricted to the cart path for the course or individual holes, you may lift, clean and place the ball no more than ONE club length (avoiding any casual water) no closer to the hole anywhere on the course except in a hazard or sand trap. This applies only to the holes that have restricted carts to the path.
Leaf Rule:-if your ball is lost in the leaves, (not in a hazard or out of bounds), drop a ball in the area where, in the opinion of your group, the ball landed. No penalty
Safety-in the interest of not damaging our clubs or ourselves, if your ball lands in an area where you could fairly hit the ball and there are rocks or tree roots near or under you ball, move the ball to the nearest area that avoids these items and drop with No penalty.
if ball is on bare hard packed earth, drop on nearest grass, no closer to the hole. No penalty
All putts MUST BE HOLED. Once you start putting continue until ball is holed.
Safety-no player playing from the red tees on hole #5 and #6 should approach the teeing area with his cart or person until all players playing from the upper tee have finished hitting their ball. This is for safety and for upper tee players vision and concentration considerations.
Hole 5
Brook on right, drop ball two club lengths to left of cart path no closer to hole.
1 stroke penalty
Hole 6 Drop zone furthest from hole should be used. 1 stroke penalty

PLAY READY GOLF
IF THE GROUP AHEAD OF YOU IS GETTING OUT OF SIGHT, YOUR GROUP NEEDS TO PICK UP THE PACE.
SAVING TWO MINUTES PER HOLE CAN SHORTEN YOUR PLAYING TIME BY ½ AN HOUR.
The WildOats provide a quality golf experience to all members. This
cannot be done when players fail to appear or show up late
necessitating on-the-fly changes to be made under the pressure of
getting teams on the tee. Also, WildOats’ members are expected to
maintain the proper pace of play (less than 4 ½ hours per round) by
keeping up with the group in front of them.
Tips on playing ready golf
* On the tee, tee off as soon as YOU
are ready; don’t wait for the person who
got the birdie to hit first
* Someone should watch their partners’ ball flight and mark the landing area by lining up with some object or landmark to reduce the possibility of a lost ball and the time wasted looking for it
* Limit a search to no more than 3 minutes
* Plan your next shot as you approach your ball or while
others are playing; move directly to your ball unless you are assisting others in a search
* Don’t step off or measure yardage for every single
shot, use the course’s distance markers and develop an “eye” for distance
* If you and your cart partner have hit your balls into
different parts of the course, drop your partner and several of his possible clubs off at his ball and move immediately to your ball and get ready to hit
* If you can safely reach your ball before others in
your group are ready to hit, go ahead and hit first; don’t wait to play just because someone else is away
* Be efficient with your pre-shot routine;
take one practice swing only and a limited #
if any, of waggles
* If carts are limited to the path, take a few clubs
with you as you walk to the ball; do NOT walk to the ball, survey the situation and then go back for your clubs; if you have a chip shot over a bunker, bring a sand wedge with you in case the worst happens
* Always carry a spare ball in your pocket in case you need it
* When in a sand trap, have the rake ready to rake the
trap after your shot
* After you hit a shot, don’t stand around cleaning
your club and putting it away; take your dirty club with you to the next ball location and clean it there and then put it away
* When walking near a hazard, do not waste time
“fishing” for balls that do not belong to your group
* At the green, park your carts away from the front of
the green and towards the next tee that you will go to; leave any extra clubs you may be carrying on the side of the green nearest your cart
* On the putting green, line up your putt while others are lining up theirs; watch the action of other putts so you can be ready to hit your putt
* Putt out at all times
* Repair ball marks and divots while waiting for other players, not when it is your turn to play
* Clear the green quickly after you putt out; return clubs to your bag when you reach the next tee and mark your score when you reach the next tee; the group behind you is probably waiting to hit up
* Do not take time to give your partners “lessons” on the course
