I’m a quadruple board certified: Pediatric Gastroenterologist Hepatologist, General Pediatrician, Obesity Medicine specialist, and Clinical Informatics physician with advanced research skills in development and implementation of patient safety and clinical decision support algorithms.
-I have a unique practice of 51% adolescents and adults and 49% infants and children with a focus on tube feeding and complex pediatric medicine.
-Over the last 10 years, I have developed a group of digital patient safety and education tools called “clinical action plans” to provide automated clinical decision support (eg, automatic drug and dosing calculation, tube feeding recommendations, and more) to facilitate chronic management care of patients with complex medical conditions. See examples by clicking the "Clinical Action Plans" button, below.
I have 10 + years of experience developing research projects aimed at using food as medicine, microbiome correction, and targeting complex diseases at the source with nutrition.
I have more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in publication.
I have served in various healthcare consulting and review capacities for many years.
An emphasis of my research has been:
1.) Describing the negative impacts of consumer product injuries [like button batteries and water beads] on child health
2.) Development of point-of-care tools to be used at home by families managing children with medical complexity
