If you want a rugged, portable stereo system with CD playback and FM radio for outdoor fishing trips, choose WIITHINK Radio CD Player; if you need lightweight, wireless earbuds with over 10 hours of battery life to stay connected while on the boat, choose SOAR NBA True.
• WIITHINK Radio CD Player: Its biggest strength is its versatility as a standalone boombox capable of playing physical media like CDs and audiobooks without needing a phone connection; the trade-off is its bulkier size and reliance on AA batteries or a power cord for mobility. This pick is for anglers who want a dedicated audio station that works independently of their smartphone.
• SOAR NBA True: Its biggest strength is its true wireless design offering hands-free freedom and a compact charging case for extended use; the trade-off is the lack of built-in storage or radio, meaning it relies entirely on a paired device for content. This pick is for fishermen who prioritize portability and want to listen to playlists from their phone without tangled wires.
The WIITHINK Radio CD Player is designed for those who appreciate the tactile nature of physical media and the reliability of a self-contained audio unit. With a top-loading mechanism that accepts standard CDs, CD-R/RW discs, MP3 CDs, and audiobook CDs, this device offers a listening experience that doesn't require an internet connection or a charged smartphone. The inclusion of an FM tuner allows users to scan and store up to 30 stations, providing access to local news and weather updates—a critical feature for anyone spending long hours on the water where cell service might be spotty. The ability to program tracks, shuffle songs, and repeat specific sections gives the user full control over their playlist without fumbling through a digital interface.
For the serious angler, the "Compact" style and built-in stereo speakers make this unit a practical choice for a fishing tackle box or a boat console. The device supports five distinct EQ modes—Rock, Pop, Flat, Class, and Jazz—allowing you to tune the sound profile to your preference or the environment. Whether you are listening to an old audiobook about survival or a high-energy rock playlist to keep morale up during a long cast, the two built-in speakers deliver stereo surround sound that fills the immediate area. The inclusion of an AUX-IN input and a USB port compatible with flash drives up to 128GB (FAT32 format) ensures that modern digital files can also be played alongside traditional discs.

However, this device is not for everyone. If you are looking for something you can slip into a pocket or wear around your neck, this boombox is too large to fit that lifestyle. Weighing 1.2 kg and measuring 10.3 x 8.4 x 4.8 inches, it is a piece of equipment that needs to be placed on a flat surface. Furthermore, while it is battery-powered using four UM2-C 1.5V cells, the batteries are not included, and the weight of the unit means you likely won't carry it far. It is best suited for fixed locations like a dock, a campsite, or the deck of a stationary boat where you can plug it in or leave the batteries installed.
The SOAR NBA True Wireless Earbuds V.2 are engineered for the fisherman who values mobility and hands-free operation above all else. These in-ear buds utilize Bluetooth 5.0 technology to provide a stable wireless connection to smartphones and tablets, ensuring you never miss a moment of music or a call while managing your gear. The "True Wireless" designation means there are no cords to get snagged on hooks, rods, or boat railings—a significant advantage when you are fighting a fish or casting repeatedly. The earpieces feature dynamic drivers to deliver premium stereo sound, and the built-in microphone allows for hands-free calls, so you can take a work call or chat with a friend without stopping your activity.
Battery performance is a standout feature for the active user. With an average battery life of over 10 hours on a single charge, these earbuds can easily last through a full day of fishing without needing a recharge. The included portable charging case extends this usage even further, allowing you to top up the earbuds whenever you have a spare moment on shore or in the cabin. The control buttons on the earbuds themselves let you manage your day with ease; you can answer or end calls, play and pause music, and skip tracks directly from the earpiece. This level of control is essential when your hands are busy with bait, lures, or a rod.
This product is officially licensed by the NBA, featuring team colors that allow fans to show their team pride while enjoying their audio. However, the lack of a headphone jack and noise-canceling capabilities means you must rely entirely on your paired device for content. Unlike the WIITHINK player, there is no built-in radio or CD drive; if your phone battery dies, you lose your audio source entirely. Additionally, because they are in-ear buds, they do not offer the same open-air monitoring of your surroundings as a speaker, which some safety-conscious anglers might consider. They are ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in their music or podcasts without disturbing others nearby.

If I were setting up a dedicated station for a day of fishing, I would choose the WIITHINK Radio CD Player. The ability to play FM radio and physical CDs without relying on a smartphone's data plan or battery life is a massive advantage in remote areas. The durability of the boombox form factor and the variety of input options make it a reliable companion that doesn't need constant recharging or pairing. While the SOAR earbuds are excellent for personal, mobile listening, the WIITHINK player offers the robustness and independence that defines the best open ear earbuds for fishing context—or rather, the best speaker system for that context. It simply provides a more secure, versatile foundation for a long day on the water.
Yes, it is highly suitable for fishing due to its FM radio capability, which works without a cellular signal, and its durable boombox design that can handle outdoor environments better than delicate electronics.
Absolutely, the device supports MP3 and WMA files on USB flash drives with a capacity of up to 128GB, provided they are formatted in FAT32.
