1. Summary
WiFi Manager: Speed Test ("the app", "we", "us") is built to be privacy-first. The app does not create user accounts, does not ask you to sign in, and
does not collect or transmit personally identifying information to our servers. We don't even operate a server. All Wi-Fi diagnostics, scan results,
speed-test runs, ping tests, LAN scans, and history records stay on your device in this app's private storage.
The only parties that receive any data from your device while using the app are:
- Google AdMob (to show ads)
- Google Maps SDK (only if you open the Wi-Fi Map tab)
- Google Play Services (location services for Wi-Fi scanning, as required by Android)
- Public benchmark endpoints (Cloudflare, OVH, Hetzner) — only the bandwidth test traffic itself, never any personal information
Each is described in detail below.
---
2. Information we collect
Data stored only on your device
The app keeps the following in a local database that is never sent off the device:
- Speed-test history (download Mbps, upload Mbps, ping, jitter, timestamp, the SSID of the network you were on)
- App preferences (theme, dynamic color toggle, floating-monitor toggle, onboarding-completed flag)
You can clear this data at any time by:
- Tapping Settings → Clear speed test history inside the app
- Or uninstalling the app, which deletes everything
Data accessed for app features but not stored or transmitted
- The SSID, BSSID, signal strength, channel, and security type of nearby Wi-Fi networks (read only while you have the Analyzer tab open)
- The IP addresses of devices on your local network (read only while running the LAN scanner tool)
- Your approximate location, used only to render the Wi-Fi Map and (on Android 12 and below) to allow Android to expose Wi-Fi scan results to the app
- Per-app Wi-Fi data totals (only if you grant Usage Access for the Data Usage tool)
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, request, or have any access to: your contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, photos, SMS, call logs, accounts, device identifiers
(IMEI/MEID), or installed app list.
4. Third-party services
Google AdMob (advertising)
We show banner, interstitial, and app-open ads through Google AdMob to support development of the app.
AdMob uses Android's advertising ID (a resettable, non-personally-identifying identifier) to serve and measure ads. AdMob may collect information such as
your device model, country, language, and a coarse approximation of your location to deliver relevant advertising.
- Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- You can reset or opt out of personalized ads at any time on your device under Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact wording varies by manufacturer).
- For EU users, on first launch AdMob may show a consent form to comply with GDPR.
We do not have access to the raw data AdMob collects; we only receive aggregated revenue reports.
Google Maps SDK
The Wi-Fi Map tab uses the Google Maps SDK for Android. When you open this tab, your approximate location may be sent to Google to render the map. This is
governed by Google's privacy policy linked above.
If you never open the Map tab, the Maps SDK is not invoked.
Google Play Services — Fused Location Provider
We use Google Play Services' Fused Location Provider to determine where to center the map. This API is provided and governed by Google.
Public benchmark endpoints
Speed tests stream bytes against the following public endpoints to measure your connection throughput:
- speed.cloudflare.com (Cloudflare, Inc.)
- proof.ovh.net (OVH SAS)
- speed.hetzner.de (Hetzner Online GmbH)
- cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/trace (for ping latency)
The requests carry only the test traffic itself plus standard HTTP headers your device would send to any website (User-Agent, Accept). No personal
information is included. Each provider has its own privacy policy.
---
5. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any of your data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only data flows are described in Section 4 (third-party
services), which exist solely to make the app's features work.
---
6. Data retention
- On-device data (speed test history, preferences) is retained until you clear it or uninstall the app.
- We retain no data on our servers, because we do not operate any.
- Third-party services (AdMob, Google Maps) have their own retention policies described in their privacy policies linked in Section 4.
---
7. Security
Because we do not transmit user data to remote servers, there is no central database that could be breached. Network requests to the speed-test endpoints
and Google services are encrypted with HTTPS / TLS.
The app sets cleartextTrafficPermitted="false" in its network security configuration — meaning the app refuses to make unencrypted HTTP requests, even if
forced.
---
8. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app
in a way that would result in data collection on your behalf, please contact us and we will assist with removal.
If you publish the app under Google Play's "Designed for Families" program in the future, you will need to add a section here describing additional
safeguards.
---
9. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)
Because the app does not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to give you, correct, or delete — beyond what you can do
yourself via:
- In-app: Settings → Clear speed test history.
- Device-level: Uninstall the app, or revoke any permission in system settings.
- Ads: Reset / opt out of the advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
For data held by Google (AdMob, Maps, Play Services), exercise your rights directly through Google's account / privacy controls at
https://myaccount.google.com.
If you are an EU/EEA, UK, or California resident and believe your rights are not being respected, contact us at the address in Section 12 and we will
respond within 30 days.
---
10. International users
The app can be downloaded and used worldwide. By using the app you understand that any data processed by the third parties in Section 4 may be transferred
and processed in the United States or other countries where those providers operate. Their respective privacy policies govern those transfers.
---
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example to reflect new features or to comply with changes in law. The "Last updated" date at the
top of this page will indicate when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Material changes will be announced in the app's Play Store description.

12. Contact

We aim to respond within 7 days.
---
This policy is provided as a starting point and reflects the design of WiFi Manager: Speed Test as of the effective date above. If you change the app's
behavior in a way that affects data collection (for example, adding analytics, crash reporting, or a server-side feature), update this policy before
releasing the change.
