When you use one of the Microsoft wireless devices (keyboard, mouse, and so on) that are listed in the "Applies to" section, the device may stop responding after several weeks of typical use, or you receive the following message:

If your device is working correctly but you continue to receive the low signal error message, click to select the Do not show this again check box in the message window.

Note This article discusses how to resolve problems that are related to many non-Bluetooth Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard devices. Wireless devices differ from Bluetooth devices. A wireless device has a symbol that resembles a tree branch displayed on the USB connector/receiver or on the hardware itself.

The wireless pointing device may not work on surfaces that do not have visible detail or on surfaces that are reflective or glossy, such as glass. Additionally, the sensor may have difficulty in tracking on highly repetitive patterns, such as a magazine or newspaper photographs.

The following colors are known to cause difficulty in tracking for some mouse devices:

Locate and then click the following registry subkey.

Note Intellipoint is the mouse software, and Intellitype Pro is the keyboard software.

Remote WiFi Mouse is a free app that turns your Android device into a wireless mouse, keyboard, touchpad/trackpad and microphone and lets you control your Windows PC over a WiFi network. Watching videos in bed? Listening songs? Or giving a presentation? Remote WiFi Mouse allows you to control your computer freely at anywhere and at any time. You can relax on the couch and remote control your PC.

Web Pages take forever to load up, the mouse seems to click where I do not click (example: I clicked on the address bar only for it to instead refresh the webpage, I clicked on the address bar multiple times to see if this was just a one time thing - it wasn't).

This "wireless keyboard and mouse seem to slow down my computer" is legit and is caused by Microsoft's antimalware and protection software, simultaneously, kick in and try to protect the device from unknown software (or hardware, in this example).

This is similar to how an unsecured USB leads to the same result. In my experience, with a wired mouse my CPU is a normal 30%, but with a wireless mouse and with antimalware and Windows protections running my CPU would pass the 100% in a flash.

If you use a mouse with your left hand, or you want a cheaper ambidextrous option, a vertical mouse, or a wireless mouse for occasional gaming, we offer more advice in the Other good wireless mice section.

Our runner-up mouse can connect via USB dongle or Bluetooth. However, the M585 can pair with only two devices, whereas the M720 Triathlon can pair with up to three. Like our top pick, the M585 has a convenient storage cavity for the USB dongle.

Ive thought of using a wireless usb dongle for mouse and keyboard but ideally I would like to avoid trying to buy something. Just need to emulate a real mouse so it doesnt look like im moving the mouse with software only.

What are the common causes for jumpy / jittery wireless mouse? I've tried using them on my work PC many times and I get frustrated over the amount of jitters I get from it. I've tried uninstalling drivers, rebooting and letting them reinstall. I've tried different ports...same results.

-Signal interference caused by nearby hardware (actually had an issue where the rear ports on the desktop were getting to hot and it was causing issues. Also other similar wireless mouses with similar receivers can cause issues from time to time).

With optical mice, I've seen that some of them have had difficulties on brightly colored mousepads/surfaces that have a really slick texture. For some reason it's not able to get a good base on those types of surfaces. When I remove those kinds of mouse pads and try something like my leg, it works fine. Some mice are just plain cheap tho.

If it works better on the front port it may have just been range. I'm curious if it's a Logitech or not. Every wireless Logitech I've used have had this issue at some point or another. Right now, T400 after the machine is idle for about 2-3 hours, one of the windows host processes kicks in at 20% CPU and suddenly can't do anything with the mouse. Right now trying a Microsoft sculpt to see if it is a Logitech issue. Looks good so far

* keyboard/mouse tray it is sitting on. Some of the ones that attach under the desk are so flimsy that normal vibration of building/hvac causes them to bounce around slightly. You may be able to see it if just sitting there not being uses, but the weight of your hand would overcome the problem (unless you are a birdman or something. hehe)

* laptop intergrated track pads/finger points causing conflict. This happens with a few of our Dells, with those devices needing to be disabled. However it doesn't do jitteries - instead the mouse will move on it's own across your screen and you have to fight with it to get back and time your clicks just right.

What kind of surface are you using under the mouse? My mouse is jittery on a the plastic pads and my desk, so I went with a cheap cloth one instead.

I would be more than happy to send you a mousepad of my own design if you'd like.

5 different mice!!! same problem. started with windows 8.1 pro upgrade. worked fine with windows 8 pro. Windows interjected a program that took away the ability of the mouse movement and icon being different and being delayed!

Someone above suggested if your mobile phone is in between the port and the mouse it could cause interferance. Well I just moved my mobile which was charging from the computer into another room and voila problem fixed

Get more done by combining M325S with your laptop. According to a recent study, laptop users who chose this mouse over a touchpad were 50% more productiveBased on throughput computation in bits/second combining speed and accuracy averaged for all devices participating in the study. Logitech Ergonomic Lab study on 23 participants in (Oct / 2019) with two Logitech standard mice and two standard, embedded trackpads and worked 30% fasterBased on bits/second for averaged movement time for all devices participating in the study. The simple addition of a mouse to a Chromebook or laptop can make all the difference in a student's world. A mouse can be easier for students to use than a trackpad in many situations, enabling easier navigation of the web, educational apps and more. The result? Simplicity and control that builds confidence and supports happy learners.

The battery life seems pretty good.

The usb cable would be very good even if the mouse was wired but the long connector and the fact that the port on the mouse is not recessed enough means that it's a bit uncomfortable using it while it's plugged in.

My only real issue is possibly with the sensor which doesn't seem to work on some surfaces that none of my numerous previous mice had any trouble with, resulting in choppy/laggy cursor movement - I verified this by using a piece of cardboard under the mouse which seems to work very well.

As others mentioned, at first I was disappointed because it didn't slide well compared to my previous logitech mouse.

Then I found out, that there was a thin protective film that I had to remove.

I love the fact that it is a little bigger than my logitech mouse.

And I love the sharp price.

I love the USB-C and all the accessories that are included.

But maybe the accuracy is just a little lower than the Logitech mouse I had previously.

The buttons aren't configurable yet. But I hope that will be fixed once the Mac driver will be out. (expected in June).

It would be nice if it the mouse buttons would just configurable using the VIA webpage that my keychron K3 pro wireless keyboard has.

But I guess that's an unrealistic expectation. Curious though, and really looking forward to whatever solution is coming up.

PS: I am a software developer with budget for cool gadgets and extremely high expectations. The K3 keyboard really checked all the checkboxes. When I found out that they shipped a low budget mouse, I just ordered it along with it, not expecting too much of it. But I actually like the mouse as well.

If you've got lots of things on your desk or like to use your mouse on the go, having a cable attached to your mouse can be trouble. Wireless mice didn't perform nearly as well as wired mice in the past, and they typically had poor battery life. These days, many wireless mice perform just as well as wired mice. Depending on how often you use your mouse, some can last for months without recharging. Lately, even e-sports pros rely on wireless options, even during competition play. Whether you're looking for an everyday browsing option, something to toss into your bag when you travel, or a trusty companion to help you make it onto the top of the leaderboards, a good wireless mouse can help you interact more naturally with your computer and with more freedom of movement. 2351a5e196
