Taneesha Douglas is a native of Dayton, Ohio, however, currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She was drawn to midwifery and ministry after a life changing experience at a women’s conference her freshman year of college. She left the conference with a clear mandate to empower women to live their best lives mentally, spiritually, and physically. She is a midwife, prophetic intercessor, motivational speaker, and author. Taneesha graduated in 2003 from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to pursue a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated and became a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2010. Taneesha also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. A highlight in her professional career was having the opportunity to be a part of the groundbreaking team that helped to open Nashville’s only accredited out of hospital birthing center, where she currently practices full scope as a Certified Nurse-Midwife. She is also an instructor at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. As a nurse-midwife, Taneesha has assisted over 500 families in childbirth. “It is an honor to assist women in birthing and to help them stay physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy throughout their lifespan”. In July of 2018, Taneesha was able to combine her love for sharing the Gospel and her passion for midwifery on a mission trip in Kampala, Uganda. This experience ignited a new passion for global ministry and health.
Taneesha enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family. She recently married the love of her life, Joshua Douglas, in August of 2019. You can also find her sharing biblical wisdom and kingdom principles on her You-Tube and social media blog entitled "Don’t Forget Your Pearls". She sees being a midwife and a minister as a calling and a ministry to be with women, praying and providing holistic care, and seeing that the body as well as the spirit of the woman is healthy, whole, and at peace.
