The Timeline

Early 2016: Initial discussion about creating WCC Elder Board and bylaw initiated by First Free Pastor Ron May.

2022-2023: Follow-up discussions between Ron May and WCC coworkers (Wai Lee, Anthony, Chris, and Jason).

November 2023: WCC Elder Board decided to use First Free bylaw framework for creating the Chinese version. Ziqi and Jason were assigned to draft the WCC bylaw.

January 2024: WCC Elder Board reviewed and approved the draft, which was submitted to First Free Director Dean Maxwell, who then sent to lawyer David Rogers for review.

March 2024: WCC Elder Board reviewed and addressed David's comments. A revised version was sent to Dean Maxwell and David for further review.

April, 2024: David approved the edited version, and the bylaw was then reviewed by the Chinese congregation. Also, First Free Elder Board planned to review and approve the WCC bylaw. 

May 1st, 2024: First Free Elder Board approved the WCC bylaw.

May 19th, 2024: The Chinese congregation voted to adopt the WCC bylaw.
