There could be a number of potential causes contributing to slow downloads within the battle.net desktop application. Usually it is a bad network setting or cached data somewhere but there are other potential causes.

Me and my friend also have this problem, i tried changing to US and the speed jumped up.

Everything else works fine, only bnet EU updates are super slow, mine was 5-10KB/s on EU and 7MB/s when i switched to US. So this have to be a blizzard problem. Had the game since TBC and this have never happened before.

Have the same problem. The current update is 8.6 GB and im downloading 25 kb/s. Have 500mb optic fibre and no issues so far except with D4. It has to be battlenet issue? Any solution? Cant see any response so far =/ Thanks in advance.

I successfully installed battlenet and Heroes of the Storm with Lutris, and i can play flawlessly. The only issue is that after starting the client it take ages (literally),probably 15/20 minutes, to load and everything is slow.

Im on Debian Bullseye using Lutris-fshack-6.21.6x86_64 to launch it.

There are some errors on the log:

Battle.net is a popular game launcher client and home to many blockbuster games, but sometimes, Battle.net takes forever to download a game. While there isn't much you can do if you have a weak connection, there are a few changes you can make within the Battle.net settings and Windows to increase the download speed.

If you're getting a comparatively lower download speed, check out our guide on how to improve your internet connection. If this helps improve your internet connection, try downloading games on Battle.net. But if there's no improvement in your connection, contact your internet service provider (ISP).

The next fix to try to download the latest network driver update. As it turns out, an outdated or corrupt network driver can cause various network issues, including the slow download speed in Battle.net.

Battle.net stores cache data to offer faster access. Sometimes, this cache folder can get corrupted and affect your download speed. You'll have to delete the content of this folder to solve the problem. Don't worry; deleting this folder will not affect your game data.

But from time to time, you may experience strangely low speed rates when downloading a game or an update via the Battle.net app. This can be caused by a variety of factors, such as server issues, internet connection problems or also conflicts with other software on your computer. Here are a bunch of ideas you should try out to increase the download speed on Battle.net.

If you tried all the mentioned options and your download speed still doesn't reach your bandwidth capacity, it is very likely that Blizzard is manually throttling the download speed, like mentioned above. In this case, you either have to live with the fact that you currently can't download the game at full speed or try to download it another day, and then hopefully with full bandwidth.

The first and foremost thing you should do when experiencing slow download speeds in Battle.net is to check your internet connection. Ensure that your internet speed meets the minimum requirements necessary for high-quality content streaming. You can use online speed testing websites like Speedtest.net to check your download and upload speeds.

If there are other applications or programs running on your device, it may consume a significant amount of bandwidth, causing slow download speeds. Close all unnecessary programs and applications to speed up your downloads.

Battle.net allows users to choose their preferred server location for downloading content. If your current server location is experiencing heavy traffic, consider switching to another location for faster download speeds.

Hi, I've been dealing with an issue these few days, so i have 100mbps of download speed and 5 mbps of upload speed, and when i try to download anything from steam, battle.net, epic games store, etc it works pretty well and i get like 12 to 13 MB/s (which is the same as 100mbps), but when i try to download anything from firefox, chrome, microsoft edge, i'm getting less than 1 MB/s on my download speed. I've tried download managers as well but none of them worked. I would love if you guys can help me.

The Battle.net client is known to suffer from incredibly slow downloads, 1mbit/s or less, when downloading for the first time with an empty cache. These slow downloads are due to how Battle.net poorly interacts with Lancache, and are unfortunately unable to be resolved in Lancache itself.

Its quite common to see different or odd behaviour at the download client with a lancache in your network. Sometimes this is as simple as the way the client does the maths on showing your current speed. An example would be:
