I have had an Apple TV account for over a year. When I attempted to log in to Apple TV the system insisted that I include my iTunes account password. I do not have an iTunes account, and did not need it when I initially obtained access to Apple TV. Why is this necessary now?

Apple TV (and all other Apple services including iTunes, App Store, and even this forum) use your Apple ID password. There is only one password per Apple ID. If you only have one Apple ID, the password needed would be the same one you used to log into this forum.

Im trying to dowload apps in my apple TV, I havent used it before. I cant get any apps, because I get an error saying that I dont have an account. wich is wrong becaus I have one. Heres a photo of the error that comes when I try to download app. Can anyone tell me how to fix this ?

If you have not previously signed in to the iTunes & App Store with this Apple ID, you may be asked to provide a payment method. As mentioned in How to create a new Apple ID, you may also need to verify your email address before you can use the Apple ID to sign in to the iTunes Store and other Apple Services:

My app had a phone number authentication + Facebook auth and it got rejected because it didn't have Sign in with Apple. Apple seriously need to re-write the guidelines to better convey whatever rules they now have.

Hi all. I'm new to all of this. I'm trying to manage an iPad 2 running iOS 9.2, JSS 9.81 and Configurator 2. I'm adding apps through VPP and the JSS and I'm getting the "Please login to your iTunes account to install apps from "xxxx.xxxx.edu" (our server)" on the iPad with a cancel or Sign In option. The iPad is supervised and the apps are free, added - I believe - properly in JSS.

I am also having issues with this. We "purchased" 120 free apps from our VPP account, which shows in our JSS. But we are still getting that the command failed and it says, "Please log in to your iTunes Store account."

I have receipts for VPP purchases - I can see the VPP purchases - but I don't have the ability to assign them in the VPP tab as above - and I STILL CAN'T INSTALL THEM ON THE IPAD WITHOUT SIGNING IN TO ITUNES. I've tried using the app account we have but the response is that it isn't the correct account. This is infuriating.

Late to the game here, but I had issue where App installed but received the same "log into itunes" pop up, and it kept popping up randomly. My JSS even showed that the right amount of VPP apps were distributed. I contacted JAMF support and here's what they told me to do and strangely enough it seems to have fixed the popup.

1) Go to the JSS url > Settings > Global Management > VPP accounts

2) Click on the VPP account that you use day to day and click on the contents tab

3) Click the Refresh button next to the application that is being installed currently.

I am thinking about buying myself a mac. The problem is that I don't want to use my Mac with my AppleID because I am very afraid that it will sync with my other apple devices and I'm not a big fan of this at all. I also don't want to maintain a seperate AppleID. Do I really need an AppleID for macOS and which parts of macOS I cannot use without an AppleID ?

No you don't need one at all. I don't get what with those recommendations. Just like Windows 10, you will not able to sync to iCloud (equivalent of OneDrive), download apps from the store, sync contacts, photos and pretty much all apple services that needs an apple id.

It would seem to me that you could setup the new Mac using an account tied to your Apple ID. You can set this account up to not sync with your other machines. You could also create another account which does not have an Apple Id. You could then choose which account to login to.

I assume if you sign out of iCloud before logging out, the the account will not sync. You could then always log in to the account without an Apple Id. You would only log in to the account with the Apple Id when you want to use the Apps Store.

Software can generally be found from other sources such as vendors' websites with the exception of new operating system versions. These can be copied from another Mac that is associated with an account or they can sometimes be found on the internet from sources of varying repute.

The Apple TV app is available on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon streaming devices, as well as the devices listed below. For a full list of compatible devices, check out Apple support. You do not even need to download it because it will appear in the Apps section on your device.

Before you can sign into the Apple TV app, you must have an Apple Music or iTunes account. If you have never used Apple Music or iTunes, you need to set up an account in the Apple Music app on your phone or iTunes on your PC.

Do you want to set up a new iTunes account? Apple has shifted away from using iTunes-specific accounts, so all Apple services now fall under one Apple ID. Luckily, you can create a new Apple ID in a few simple steps. To sign up using iTunes, you'll need a valid payment method to make purchases from the iTunes store. With other methods, you'll only need a valid email and phone number. This wikiHow will show you how to create a new Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and even on your PC or Android.

Part of setting up the iPad to Sine Point Pro is to create, or use an existing, Apple ID. An Apple ID is needed to download Sine Point Pro to your desk iPad. If you have an existing Apple ID, this article need not apply to you. If you are creating a new Apple ID, please continue reading.

When using Apple devices or Apple services, Apple requires an "Apple ID" to make everything work. An Apple ID is basically your Apple account that's used for everything from logging in to iCloud to making purchases to getting support to tracking your lost devices and items with Find My.

An Apple ID authenticates your identity and is required whenever you log into an Apple device to keep everything synced up. Making an Apple ID is entirely free, and this guide features everything you need to know about signing up and using your Apple ID.

You can create multiple Apple IDs, but it's best to stick with one account. If you want all of your Apple services to work properly and your devices to sync, you need to make sure to use the same Apple ID everywhere you sign in.

Your Apple ID is the gateway to a lot of personal information about you, as it is the login used to access everything stored in the cloud from purchase information to photos. It's a good idea to add an extra layer of security to your account with Apple's two-step verification system.

It also includes a recovery key for safekeeping that will allow you to access your Apple ID account if your password or your Apple device is ever lost. It's a good idea to put this code in a secure place because there's often no way to recover an Apple ID account with no recovery key available and no known password.

In iOS 16.3, Apple has added a Security Keys feature to the Apple ID, allowing physical security keys like the Yubikey to serve as your extra authentication layer instead of digital two-factor verification. If you enable this, you will need two security keys, and you will need to get a physical code from them each time you sign into your Apple ID on a new device or when accessing iCloud.com.

If your organization allows it, you can set up Google Workspace on an iOS device to access your work or school account. You can use your own personal device or one that your organization issued to you.

If your administrator allows it, you can sync your Google Workspace mail, calendars, and contacts with the corresponding apps on your iOS device. You can get email from your work or school account, see your Google Calendar events, and view Google Contacts in your corresponding iOS apps.

Before you begin: If your organization issued you a device that was already in use, the device needs to be reset to its factory settings. If you need help, contact your administrator.

Any songs that don't match to the iTunes catalog will be uploaded to iCloud in their original form, save for tracks that are too low-quality (under 92kbps), too long (over two hours), too big (over 200MB), or you aren't authorized to play (say, a song from another user's iTunes account that you don't have the username and password to unlock).

Note: Currently, you'll need an iTunes library with 100,000 songs or less in it for iCloud Music Library to work correctly; if you have too many songs, here's how to create a secondary iTunes library.

Note: If you're only using the $24.99/year standalone iTunes Match service, iCloud Music Library won't give you access to music from the Apple Music catalog: You need an Apple Music subscription for that.

Keep in mind that this option not only enables your iCloud Music Library over LTE or 5G, but it also turns on cellular data for automatic downloads and Apple Music. If you'd rather avoid that, you can disable automatic downloads on your devices or only enable the Use Cellular Data switch when needed.

Installing apps through the Apple app store is the safest way recommended for iOS devices. It is also possible to push store apps to devices in bulk through an MDM. But, in both these cases, the users will have to sign in with their iTunes account to begin the installation. Sometimes, the user may choose not to install the application at all. 0852c4b9a8
