May 15: Oregon Alley Cat
In the style of alley cat racing, cycling checkpoints will be announced the day of the ride and riders will need to locate gps coordinates and answer questions specific to the checkpoint using QR codes. The fastest rider to complete the challenge wins a prize! Smartphone technology is required for participation. In order to socially distance, there will not be a group start. Instead, riders will check-in at White Pelican Headquarters between 10am-12pm on 5/15 for instructions before setting off on the challenge. Best of luck!

June 19: Double Helix
Paved and Gravel Routes
Call it an identity crisis, but we love both road and gravel cycling! That's why we're running The Double Helix Century with both full and half century road and gravel route options. Pick one or mix and match the routes to suit you surface and distance preferences. We'll have a mass start at 9am on June 19th from Conover Square Mall in Oregon, IL but you're welcome to check in and ride as early or late as you please.
This is a self-supported ride meaning there will be little to no services provided by White Pelican. There are, however, several gas stations along the route for you to fill up on nutrition and hydration. We will share the route(s) digitally through Strava and Ridewithgps closer to June 19th for you to upload to your devices.
The Double Helix is FREE but we will accept donations to help us run this and other events in the future. All riders are expected to sign a digital event waiver prior to riding.
Whether you're a roadie or a groadie, bring your cyclist DNA to beautiful Oregon, IL and enjoy the routes!
