- Monday: Run through most of the Rock Circuit trail. All the water from the weekend meant that the waterfall was really flowing. 9 miles
- Tuesday: Running on the bike path in town. Steadyish pace. 8 miles
- Wednesday: Double reservoir loop for 13.7 miles. Took a little spill, but was fine!
- Thursday: Didn't feel like going outside, 12 miles on the treadmill.
- Friday: Skyline loop in the fells plus jogging around to hit 10 miles
- Saturday: This was supposed to be a big day out. Planned was ~18.5 miles with 8.8k ft of elevation gain on Mount Monadnock. Instead, I tweaked my ankle on the first downhill, and heard a loud snapping noise. I think I did something to my peroneal tendon. I hit the bottom on the far side of the mountain and started up again. At the summit I decided my ankle was in too rough of shape to make a longer day and I headed home. Really hurt anytime my ankle twisted such that it stretch the outside of the ankle. 10 miles total. I do have some video from this I need to edit and upload.
- Sunday: Rest day, letting the ankle recover.
Total: 63 miles
Thoughts: Really bummed to have hurt my ankle like this. Last time I did damage really badly two it was a severe sprain (which I stupidly ran through) on the 7 Sisters Trail race back in 2015, and which has bothered me since. I'm sitting here now with a brace on it, and I'm hoping it'll heal up in a few more days. I have a 50k coming up on Saturday that I was planning on training through, but now I might wind up being kind of tapered for it. Also bummed because I had such a good first 4 week cycle, but now I'm taking another down week which was unplanned. I might look into getting leukotape and taping it up for the 50k for added support.
Photo: There were red efts all over Monadnock, so I shuttled them to the side of the trail when I saw them in hopes they wouldn't get squished. This is a pic I took of one after I moved it. They're cute little critters.
