- Monday: 4.8 miles. After a heavy weekend I needed a recovery, but I also wanted to do some specificity. Decided the best way was do some climbing, and practice with my poles! I went out and did 6 climbs of about 150 ft of a hill called bear hill.
- Tuesday: Rest
- Wednesday: 15 miles! Mid week long run, running the Skyline Trail in the Middlesex fells, then along the bike path in Stoneham. Some trail and some roads
- Thursday: 10 miles on the treadmill, it was dark and dreary, so didn't feel like going outside. Wound up averaging 8:13
- Friday: 12 miles with my friend Nathan. Started getting pretty dark at the end. Eventually he went home and I capped the run off with 4 summits of Bear hill in the dark. Saw a mix of drizzle and light snow while we were out there.
- Saturday: 6.9 miles on the Cape. Visited my wife's family, saw my niece for the first time. Ran down along the water and marveled at the expensive houses. The privileged class enjoying their privileges, as my wife likes to say.
- Sunday: Big day. 22 miles, mostly in the fells, with 5 hours of time on feet. Started out great making it through a Skyline loop, and felt ok through most of the second. Started to get too hot and run out of water while on my third loop (this time on the reservoir trail). Plenty of water flowing through the trails, but I had no water filter. Was dunking my hat and a buff all along the way to try and stay cool. Tried recording video of it, and want to try and get it up eventually. Currently (as of 8:15 PM), it's been transferring off my GoPro for the last hour and a half. Also saw many snakes. Here is the video https://youtu.be/Bt7C7gKmLyU
Total: 71 miles. 7,500 ft of elevation. 12 hours and 49 minutes moving time
Thoughts: First big training week as I start prepping for Tor. The real trick will be consistency. I don't need to get any faster right now, just stronger. I think the grind on Sunday will help with mental strength out there.
