So in the video, I talk about why I bought this pack. Basically, a key plastic component of another pack I have broke, and it made me realize I would want a back-up pack for my race at Tor Des Geants. So I jumped on Amazon, and found this. For just over $40, this is the Aonijie 18L Pack. And I really like it.
First things first, this pack fits pretty large when it's completely empty, but once I put my two water bottles (700 ml Smartwater bottles with the sports cap, as seen in the pics) in the side pockets, and adjusted the sizing strap at the bottom, it fit way better. The bottles also add some support ot the pack, which has no sheet frame of any kind like some other packs. Also unfortunate, is the front bottles are a little small for the 500 ml Salomon soft flasks I have. The copy online for the pack reccomends 350 ml soft flasks. I've found that my Amphipod 12 oz bottles fit pretty well in the front.
The back pocket is a big storage pocked with a roll down top, which fastens to clips which come up from the bottom. Today I had two wraps, a light fleece, and a rain shell back there, and still had plenty of space. I also filled up the two smart water bottles, and ran with the back with 24 oz of water in the front pockets (12 each) and the two full bottles in the back and it felt very comfortable. The back didn't swing around and the front stayed in place. This is quickly becoming a favorite pack for long, unsupported runs. For a stretch, I also folded up my poles and put them along side the water bottles in the stretchy pockets, and fasted them down with the small elastic retainers, and everything still fit great.
In short, I can carry at least 2 liters of water, all the food I'd need, and all the gear I'd need for a big day out with out problem in this pack, and it will fit comfortably the whole time. This is really a great purchase for the $$, and I'm even considering getting a second as another backup, since it's so cheap.
