Welcome to the Counselor's Corner! My name is Tina Williamson and I am the school counselor for Whitebead Elementary School. It is my privilege to work with your most prized possession - your children. I am one member of a team that strives to ensure success of all of our students. Within that team, my role is to help our students be empowered in these three main areas: personal social development, academic achievement, and career development, through individual counseling, group counseling and classroom counseling. If you or your child have concerns, I am here to help! Together, we can give our students the best opportunity to be successful and reach their full potential.
If you wonder exactly what a school counselor does, check out the American School Counselor Association.
In kindergarten, we have worked on learning about our personal space/bubble, how we fill others' buckets through acts of kindness, and working towards being able to identify our feelings.
First grade students have been working on identifying their feelings, using good manners, and the importance of listening.
Second grade students have been learning about kindness and how we show kindness, identifying our feelings, the difference between joking, teasing, and bullying, and how to stand up for others who are being bullied.
Unfortunately, classroom counseling will be ending soon in order to prepare for the testing season.
