Silly, but I use it for monitor cleaning. It makes things on the screen obvious. :) I also use it to validate plain colour reproduction for different monitors, but that only comes up rarely and I'm not looking for professional colour grading.

I'm working on a animated sequence, and i'm doing it the traditional way (by hand), so i need a white surface with light that allows me to put one piece of paper over another and be able to see both, so since i don't have a professional screen for this, i'm using my computer and putting the white screen on it so i don't touch anything by mistake

While studying, I use 2 screens, one with a timer and one to search whatever I need on the internet. When I am not searching, I put the white screen so I don't get distracted with anything on the computer

A white screen can act as a lifesaver when checking all the dirt and dust particles and dead, stuck, white, and warm pixels. Every LCD screen should be cleaned periodically to avoid disruption of picture quality and stop further damage.

There are different types of damaged pixels; their color can distinguish these. Stuck and dead pixels almost look similar but can be categorized by the RGB (red, green & blue) test. It gets easier to see whether the pixel is black, white, or any other color on a white screen. Dead pixels are black, and stuck pixels are of color. It is important to find the exact problem first if one wants to find a solution and the white screen helps you with that.

It is almost impossible for anyone to stop dust from settling on a screen, but it is quite possible to clean all of it with a white screen. A white screen is helpful to notice the dirt & dust on the monitor, which further leads to an easy cleaning experience.

The white screen can be used on an LCD device. The testing can be white computers and laptops and smartphones, televisions, tablets, and so on. The assistance provided by the white screen can be used to clean smaller screens, too, which is generally difficult to do with bare eyes.

When a screen is well tested with different colors, no chance of missing a pixel is left. The white screen provides the facility to implement different colors and complete the cleaning task efficiently.

Minor damage and small cracks can go unnoticed, these types of unnoticed damages may seem a minor problem at first, but when left unattended, they can damage the visual quality or the screen as a whole. A white screen helps you to see even these things and saves you from further damage.

Pixels are the basic building blocks of a digital image, and even one damaged pixel can create a disturbance on the screen. Differentiating between different types of damaged pixels and then treating them as it is difficult without any assistance. With a white screen, one can spot the damaged pixel, and because of the clarity provided, they can know which type of damaged pixel it is. Once the pixels are treated, future chances of any possibility of damage are lowered.

Flutter splash screen Xcode white background for first 2 seconds. After that, it correctly shows the images from my storyboard... I tried everything to get rid of that first white blank screen, but I can't. Can someone help, please?

Note: I noticed that I only see launchscreen and main as options in general > app icons and launch images in Xcode. Shouldn't I be able to see the option launschreen_storyboard as well?Note: Android works fine. It only is a problem at iOS.

I just updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 16.2 and now my lock screen is displaying just a black screen with the time, flashlight, and camera icons. I restarted the phone and verified that Settings/Wallpaper is set to select the wallpaper image that I have been using for years. After restarting the iPhone, the correct wallpaper was displayed but the next time the display went to sleep, it was again just showing the black background image.

Thank you, ProustGiulio, for your input. I have already created a customized lock screen photo (that I have been using for years) and have selected it in SettingsWallpaper. However, when I wake the phone from sleep, it is not showing that photo. Instead, it shows a black background with the time, flashlight, and camera icons.

I am experiencing all the same things already mentioned, but in my case, it may (or may not) be related to Do Not Disturb. I do not use Bedtime to schedule DND, but rather simply have it scheduled as DND: On from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., off from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Has worked for years until upgrading from 15.7 to 16.1 on Friday. I had also created wallpaper for lock screen/home screen, and edited from chunky font for time display to thinner, obviously selecting the latter for use. (Kept the orginal unwanted set just in case, as it would be easier to simply modify than going back to wallpaper and starting over in the event it disappeared.

DND malfunctioned immediately following upgrade. It goes on (and, although doesn't always give you the quick notification at the bottom of the home screen, the crescent is displayed above) but often does NOT go off! While on, apparently it chooses to black out the wallpaper selection, which I hate, but this morning, for the first time, it disabled itself on schedule. However - it also immediately switched from my selected wallpaper set in focus to the original chunky font set! It has swapped sets at other times while working on this issue, but unfortunately, I can't be specific - particularly since I didn't realize that was what was occuring. I thought initially that it was simply changing the font.

I have the iPhone11Pro and the same thing happened I believe with the update to iOS16.0.2, as of iOS 16.1 the issue remains. Everyday my 7+ year old wallpaper disappears and both the home screen background and the lock screen become completely black.

First I decided to recover the original wallpaper image by following a series of complicated steps. The image is store as a .cpbitmap file, which I believe is an Apple proprietary image format used in iOS and iPadOS. This is what I did in case anyone is curious. Without ever deleting my current wallpaper (even if not showing in the main screen, it still appeared on the Settings app). Instructions using Windows 11 2H22:

In Colors, you can let Windows pull an accent color from your background, or choose your own color adventure. After you've selected an accent color, scroll down to indicate where you want to see the color show up. Or scroll up to Choose your mode and you can see whether your accent color looks better in a Dark or Light mode.

Like most of us here, I was thrilled to update to the new MacOS Sonoma today and explore all its exciting features. One of the standout enhancements is the new screensaver options with those gorgeous wallpapers (I can't get enough of the 'Sonoma Clouds' wallpaper ?). However, I've run into an annoying issue, and I need your expertise to solve it.

After setting a wallpaper, it changes successfully both as the desktop background and the screensaver, just as expected. But here's the problem: as soon as I switch to another space/desktop, all spaces revert back to the default 'Sonoma Horizon' wallpaper that comes with the update. I've tried enabling the 'Show on all spaces' option, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

The monitors used phosphorus which appeared dark on the computer screen. When a key on the keyboard was pressed, electrons would ignite the phosphorus into another color (often green) to create letters and symbols against the dark background.

You also can dim your screen manually in light mode or set your brightness to adjust automatically based on the surrounding lighting. Either option will effectively reduce glare if you prefer not to use dark mode.

Why does eye dilation make it harder to see? When your pupils dilate, your vision becomes less clear. When your pupils constrict under bright light, your vision sharpens. Just like a camera, a smaller aperture provides greater depth of focus. For this reason, it may be more difficult for some people to clearly see screen details in dark mode.

If your Galaxy phone screen looks black and white, like an old TV show, there could be a few reasons why. Bedtime, Dark mode, or Visibility enhancements mode functions may have been enabled by mistake. Turning these functions off will return the phone to normal.

Gingerbread Man,thanks for the warning but as I didn't understand exactly what it meant I left it alone. What I have noticed though is that No Squint seems to treat some images / graphics differently to others on the same page.My local weather map ( ) which is a looped time lapse of four individual radar images is not displayed when No Squint background grey is enabled while the rest of the screen seems OK.Also 'loses' some images but not others on the same page when No Squint is enabled.I'm seems that No Squint is operating on web pages I visit but doesn't affect Firefox itself as when a new tab is opened it is standard white.Fortunately it is very quick to turn off which I do if I see blank areas on sites I visit.Cheers

Did you use the No Squint global setting? If so, turn it off. When you go to a site, open No Squint and adjust thesetting for that site. I only use global for screen size, and set each site with it's colors.

When your app is opened, there is a brief time while the native app loads Flutter. By default, during this time, the native app displays a white splash screen. This package automatically generates iOS, Android, and Web-native code for customizing this native splash screen background color and splash image. Supports dark mode, full screen, and platform-specific options. e24fc04721
