## Overview
Which Costs More is a price-guessing game. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your choices.
## Data we collect
### Data stored on your device
- **Game progress:** best streak scores per category (local storage)
- **Settings:** language preference, sound on/off, optional display nickname
- **Catalog cache:** product and category data downloaded from our server for offline play
We do not sell this on-device data.
### Data sent to our servers (Firebase / Google)
When you use optional **Community leaderboard** features, we use **Firebase** (Google Cloud) to:
- Create an **anonymous account** (random user ID — no email or password)
- Store your **best streak score**, **category**, **game mode**, **display name** (nickname or auto-generated label), and **timestamp**
We do not require registration, email, or phone number.
### Product catalog
The app downloads product names, approximate prices, and images from **Firebase Firestore** and **Firebase Storage**. This is read-only content for gameplay, not personal data about you.
### What we do not collect
- No precise location
- No contacts or photos from your device
- No advertising identifiers for tracking
- No payment or financial account data
## How we use data
- Run the game and show leaderboard rankings
- Improve stability and fix bugs
- Keep catalog content up to date

## Data retention
- **Local scores:** remain until you delete the app or clear app data
- **Leaderboard entries:** remain until you use **Delete my data** in Settings or we remove them administratively
- **Anonymous account:** deleted when you use **Delete my data** in Settings
## Your choices
In **Settings** you can:
- Change language and nickname
- Turn sound effects on or off
- **Delete my data** — removes your community leaderboard entries and anonymous Firebase account on our servers
Uninstalling the app removes local data on your device.
## Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## International users
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where Firebase operates.
## Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
