This class will introduce students to building 3-demensional art. Emphasis will be placed on the design elements; line, shape, texture, and color.  The students will acquire knowledge of form, volume, and space relationships through a focus  on hand building techniques; pinch, coil and slabs. Functional as well as sculptural applications will be explored. Students will learn about the historical background, aesthetic traditions, and artistic properties of ceramics through a variety of studio experiences.  Various decoration techniques for finishing work will be introduced.

Sculpture 2 students may be introduced to the craft of wheel thrown pottery on a limited basis. Various glaze and decoration techniques will be introduced.
