JINSHI INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ( SMC-PRIVATE ) built WherePlaced as an offline item-location organiser. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the application.
WherePlaced does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal information or user data with the developer or any external server.
The application does not require users to create an account, sign in, or provide personal details such as a name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
WherePlaced allows you to save information such as:
Item names
Item categories
Rooms or areas
Containers or drawers
Item notes
Favourite status
Item photographs
Date created and last-updated information
This information is stored locally in the application’s private storage on your device. It is not automatically uploaded or transmitted to JINSHI INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ( SMC-PRIVATE ).
You may optionally select or capture photographs to help identify saved items.
Selected photographs are copied to the application’s private storage and used only to provide the app’s item-location features.
WherePlaced does not upload these photographs to a developer-controlled server and does not use them for advertising, analytics, profiling, or identification.
Access to a camera application or system photo picker occurs only when you choose to add or change a photograph.
WherePlaced does not contain advertisements.
The application does not use AdMob or any other advertising service and does not collect advertising identifiers.
WherePlaced does not use analytics, tracking technologies, behavioural profiling, or user-monitoring services.
The application does not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar analytics platforms.
WherePlaced is designed to operate offline and does not require an internet connection for its core features.
The application does not automatically send saved item information, photographs, usage activity, or device information to the developer or an external server.
WherePlaced may allow you to create a local backup containing your saved item information and item photographs.
A backup is created only when you choose the backup option and select a destination using Android’s system file picker.
The developer does not receive or have access to your backup files. You are responsible for keeping exported backup files secure.
Deleting information from the application does not automatically delete copies contained in backup files that you previously exported.
WherePlaced may allow you to share item-location details through Android’s system sharing menu.
Information is shared only after you deliberately select the sharing option and choose another application or recipient.
Third-party applications used to receive shared content operate according to their own terms and privacy policies. JINSHI INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ( SMC-PRIVATE ) is not responsible for how another application handles information that you voluntarily share with it.
WherePlaced is designed to avoid unnecessary permissions.
The application does not require access to:
Your contacts
Precise or approximate location
Microphone
Phone calls
SMS messages
Notifications
Advertising identifiers
Broad device storage
Broad photo or media libraries
Internet access for its core functionality
The Android system photo picker, document picker, camera application, or sharing menu may be opened only after you select a related feature.
WherePlaced does not integrate advertising, analytics, authentication, cloud database, or user-tracking SDKs.
When you voluntarily open an external service—such as the Google Play Store to rate the app, a camera application, a file picker, or a sharing application—that service may process information according to its own privacy policy.
Information saved within WherePlaced remains in the application’s private storage until you:
Delete an individual item
Use the Clear All Data feature
Clear the application’s storage through device settings
Uninstall the application
Manually exported backup files remain in the location you selected until you delete them yourself.
You can delete your information directly within the application.
You may:
Delete individual item records
Remove individual item photographs
Clear all saved application data from Settings
Uninstall the application
Because WherePlaced does not maintain user accounts or a developer-controlled online database, there is no server-side user account or remotely stored personal information for the developer to delete.
WherePlaced uses Android application-private storage to help prevent other applications from directly accessing its internal files under normal operating conditions.
However, no device or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their devices and exported backup files with appropriate security measures.
WherePlaced is a general organisational utility and is not specifically designed to collect information from children.
The application does not knowingly collect, transmit, or store children’s personal information on a developer-controlled server.
JINSHI INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ( SMC-PRIVATE ) does not sell, rent, trade, or share user data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application’s features, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change.
Any updated policy will include a revised “Last updated” date. Users are encouraged to review this policy after installing significant application updates.
