By purchasing your train tickets digitally, the Cog will be able to notify you via text messaging when and where parking is available based upon the time of your departure. We accept Credit and Debit card payment at our parking kiosks. No cash.
We encourage customers who wish to enjoy Manitou Springs, either before or after visiting the Cog, to utilize one of the following City lots: Hiawatha Gardens, Wichita Lot, Canon Lot and Smischny Lot. Guests who park in the Smischny Lot will need to make a 5 minute walk into downtown Manitou Springs to catch the Route 33 shuttle.

The free Route 33 shuttle is available to bring you directly to your Cog adventure and return you to the Gardens. The shuttle will be scheduled to run approximately every 10-20 minutes and stops running at 6PM.
Due to the amount of vehicle and human traffic on both Ruxton Avenue and at the Cog Depot, we respectfully ask that you not arrive at the Depot more than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure. This is important to our efforts to accommodate your ability to enjoy your Cog adventure.
Failure to purchase your tickets in advance will complicate things for you, us, and everyone else! Parking will not be available to you at the Cog Depot parking lot and you should not enter Ruxton Avenue in order to visit the Cog Depot with the hope of purchasing a ticket in person. Your ability to choose the train adventure you want and select particular seats will also be minimized.
We have made purchasing advanced tickets intuitive and simple in order to discourage the practice of walk-up ticketing. We respectfully request that you help us accommodate the needs of everyone involved.

Below is an overview of parking choices in Old Town Alexandria. Many parking garages and lots are located conveniently in the Historic District. On-street metered parking is available for up to two or three hours (per the posted signage). To ensure you are parking legally, read all posted signage before parking. Parking limits are strictly enforced.
Although it is encouraged that drivers park in off-street facilities in Alexandria wherever and whenever possible, there is also on-street parking throughout the city in cases where off-street parking is not feasible. On-street parking is free unless posted signage states otherwise. All meter rates are subject to change, however, on-street parking rates as of March 2023 are as follows:
*Beginning September 2, 2022, select blocks with residential pay by phone restrictions charge a higher parking rate for non-residents that choose to park on the affected blocks. The rate increased to $3.00/hour for any vehicles without a district parking permit or a guest permit. Residents and guests with district permits can continue to park without paying the hourly parking rate. This is part of an effort to help residents without off-street parking to find parking availability on the street near their homes through pricing and will be monitored and adjusted as needed depending upon parking behavior.
In coordination with this increase on residential blocks, the City has also reduced the hourly rate at the Courthouse Garage to encourage visitors to park off-street. Please see the sections above for more information about off-street parking options.
Visitors to the Historic District are encouraged to bike, walk, or take the Metrorail Yellow or Blue lines to King St-Old Town station and take the FREE King Street Trolley or FREE DASH bus. For DASH schedule information, visit www.dashbus.com. For Metrobus schedule information, visit www.wmata.com.

State Code 5 June 3, 1960, allows free parking for people with disabilities who have state-issued identification (either a placard or a handicap license plate) in metered or timed parking spaces. This includes Parking Meters, Garages, and Lots and only applies to City, County, and State-owned facilities. There are several garages and lots that are privately owned, and they do not offer free parking for people with disabilities.
When parking at a metered space please be sure your placard is visible. It should either hang from the rear view mirror or be placed on the dashboard. When leaving a garage to receive free parking, you will be asked to show your disabled placard or identification. f0a16ac21c
