Here is another sad story. A large multi-family military party arrived in Orlando and made a supply stop at a local store on their way to WDW. While inside their rental car was broken into and some of the luggage was stolen, including the bags with their tickets. One family was able to get their Base Ticket Office to fax a copy of the receipt and had their tickets replaced, the other family was not so lucky and had to buy new tickets.

Where To Buy Military Discount Tickets For Disney World

I know there is a limit of six Armed Forces Salute tickets per military member. Is this per visit or for the entire year? i.e. Can I go to Disneyland twice in 2018 and purchase six tickets each time? Thank you.

Can military member and spouse purchase 6 tickets each at different MWRs? Will the different MWRs know that military member has already bought 6 tickets? And can each of us activate the tickets at Disneyland? (My husband activates the 6 and I activate the other 6 tickets). These tickets are for extended family.

For tickets beyond 6 you will need consider the use of the Regular Military Discounted Disney Tickets. See: -military-discounts/regular-disney-military-discount-for-walt-disney-world-and-disneyland-tickets/

What ID is needed to receive the regular military discount tickets (not Armed Forces Salute)? Will a veteran ID card work for these tickets? I read that you are unable to receive the Armed Forces Salute tickets.

I am the retired military member. Planned a family trip for Oct 2020 bought the Salute tickets via Shades of Green already (6). Two members of the family are no longer able to go in Oct but will be going in March. My question is will they be able to use the Salute tickets I had bought for them for use in Oct (before I even use mine) or will they need to buy new tickets ?

This is for the Salute tickets! The Regular Military Discounted Disneyland Tickets must be purchased at a military reseller, like Pendleton, but it has nothing to do with IDs, rather how they but the tickets and their contract with Disney.

You or he may purchase the Regular Military Discounted Disneyland Tickets for them. These are only slightly discounted, not a huge discount like the Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets which would require you to go.

I purchased Disneyland military salute tickets in Feb 2020 just before the pandemic forced cancellation of our plans. I understand that they extended the 2020

Tickets to December 21, 2021 but I am unable to go before they expire.

There is no question that access to the Shades of Green resort and the discounted tickets saved me several hundred dollars. Of course, it took nearly 28 years of service. If you are eligible, the Military Salute program is the way to go.

As a thank you for their service, Disney offers members of the Military special discounted rates for their Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme park tickets as well as discounts on Resort hotel stays and Disney Cruise Line vacations. The discounts availabe for Disney Cruise Line sailings are updated each week so if you're looking at a cruise, be sure to check back weekly as the new discounts are released. The Walt Disney World has its own Military Resort, Shades of Green, which is specifically for members of the U.S. Military and their families to utilize.

This is a frequently-offered discount, extended every year since (at least) 2009. These tickets may be used by themselves, family members (including spouses) or friends. These tickets are by far the cheapest that Disney offers, so if you qualify, jump on this deal.

Are there requirements with the park tickets like the room reservations where the military person must be present with you in the park for the tickets? My father in law is retired military but not sure he would want to really be hanging in the parks much with us.

I have seen references to having your tickets validated or confirmed when you enter the parks for the first time with the tickets. That would require the military person and his/her ID. However, I got actual hard plastic tickets when I ordered through Shades of Green. When I entered the ticket numbers into the My Disney Experience website, they were immediately recognized as the military discount/park hopper tickets I had bought. I never had to show an ID at any time over five days. Of course, I was always with my family, but I suspect they could have gotten in own their own. I had the tickets on Magic Bands and we always used the Magic Bands to enter.

Few thoughts from a military spouse who has organized more trips than I care to admit to WDW:

-They used to all the discount on the three room deluxe villas! I am sad to see that go.

-Shades of Green has spacious rooms, great pools, and breakfast package is excellent AND IT OFFERS THE CHEAPEST PARKING on property! Typically about half of what other hotels on resort charge. It also qualifies for the Extended Evening Theme Park Hours through 2023!

-Swan and Dolphin also offers competitive military discount! And I think its the best location on resort! Oh- and its another Extended Evening Theme Park Hours resort! Yay!

For our first trip back to WDW in almost 20 years, we stayed at the Shades of Green resort this past September. I made my reservations well in advance. I was able to purchase our tickets, with the Military Salute discount, through the SoG ticket office, also well in advance. I was able to get two adjoining rooms at SoG for less than the price of one room at the Contemporary. Also, the daily parking fee is less than the deluxe resorts and about the same as the budget resorts.

I have used both deals repeatedly. I have gotten anywhere from 35-40% off rack rates at deluxe resorts, mainly Animal Kingdom Lodge. The moderate resort discount is probably in the 25-30% range. As you said, each resort has limited availability of rooms with this rate.

For the best discounts on multi-day Walt Disney World tickets (and other theme park and attraction tickets), we highly recommend checking out Undercover Tourist, a reliable ticket broker offering excellent Disney World ticket discounts and outstanding customer service.

All regular Walt Disney World tickets, including Base, Park Hopper and Park Hopper Plus tickets of 3 days or longer are $21.30 less (tax included) when purchased in advance directly from Disney online or over the phone (versus buying them at Walt Disney World ticket booths, guest services locations or Disney hotel desks). In our experience, Undercover Tourist typically has discounts that are significantly better; be sure to compare the final prices with tax before purchasing.

Auto Club South (AAA) offers a discount on the 1-Day and 3-Day tickets.Florida Resident Tickets can be purchased at a discount from Undercover Tourist or directly from Disney at the regular price; you must have proof of Florida residency.Florida Resident Sorcerer Pass (formerly Gold pass)Please note: Walt Disney World has paused the sale of new Sorcerer Passes.

Disney has the right to check ID at the gate. Military personnel may bring in non-military guests with the military discount as long as they accompany the non-military person(s) and at least 50% of the group are qualified for the military discount (i.e., active duty, retired, DOD and dependents). If military personnel purchase tickets and give them as gifts to non-military users that they will not be accompanying, they risk having the recipient denied entry and the tickets confiscated.

If you are looking for a fun, family trip to take, plan to go to Disney. Going to Walt Disney World makes for a magical, family vacation that is fun for all ages. And the best part? They offer an amazing military discount!

Yes, the Disney World military discount tickets can be purchased for friends and extended family. However, the service member or spouse must be there with them, at least on the day they are activated.

The service member or the spouse can buy the tickets at their local MWR/ITT Travel Office. You can also buy them at Shades of Green, the military-owned and operated resort at Disney World, at the Orlando ITT, and by phone/email through Shades of Green, the Patrick AFB ITT, or Camp Pendleton ITT.

No, there is no military discount on annual passes. They are actually not allowing anyone to buy a new pass at this time. If you already have an annual pass, you can renew it if you do so in the correct time frame.

It may be your dream to drink around the world at Epcot but the price of that experience can be hefty. Ranging from $6 to $16 per drink, and multiplying that by the 10 countries that are showcased, the price of the drinks alone could send you running. Adding in meals, as well as making sure everyone is hydrated, the cost of a day at Epcot, or any of the other parks, can add up quickly. Knowing where and when to cut costs can keep the day fun and exciting.

Leisure Travel Services on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield allows you to book hotel-attraction reservations via military voucher program. You can even buy discounted theme-park tickets or book a cruise for a great deal!
