I just bought Earth (throw back) shoes from Planetshoes.com. I saw an ad in a fitness magazine about how great they are for walking, your legs, and your back. I bought a pair that I have worn everyday with jeans...so cute! The other pair are sandals (Gaucho). The creator of these shoes is a yoga master. She invented them based on how people walk in sand, so all the shoes have a lower heal (negative heal). They make you stand taller and straighter. All of the new styles are more fashionable than those of the 70's.
Other brands to consider, which are somewhat less pricey, but more fashionable than white sneakers are Cole Haan (many with Nike soles...very comfortable!), Merrill (some styles less "outdoorsy" looking than others), Puma or Adidas (many leather styles to choose from that don't look like chunky running shoes...some with velcro strap closures that are great during (ta && ta.queueForLoad ? ta.queueForLoad : function(f, g)document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', f);)(function()ta.trackEventOnPage('postLinkInline', 'impression', 'postLinks-2856696', '');, 'log_autolink_impression');flights as well). I was just in Italy in January and got four pairs of Sergio Rossi boots for under $400 . One pair was originally priced 450 euros! Now these were purchased at the outlet mall just south of Florence and may have been last season but the quality is still the same. At The Outlet Mall, you will find Gucci, Tod's/Hogan, Ferragamo, and Sergio Rossi. Prada also has there own store called Space and its about a 1/2 hour from the Mall. If you are looking for this season's shoes, the prices are less than what you will find in the US,exacty how much it depends on brand/style. If you go at the end of season, the do have sales, ie. January(fall shoes), end of August(summer shoes).

I wear my Tod loafers 'all of the time' and they still look brand new. Amortize the cost over 5+ years -- and they're not so expensive. And, they're the most comfortable shoes and look great. Mine are red patent leather driving loafers -- 6 years later and they still look brand new.

The owner actually brought out every pair of shoes in my size to show me what she had! The shop stocks lots of different makes. I can't remember the name of the shop, but it wouldn't help anyway as the name is not easily visible. It is in Salizzada San Lio near the Rialto and opposite the CD shop and almost opposite the hotel Da Bruno. The shop always has one window of marked down items.
Thanks JB. As always your stories are well versed and very interesting. I ordered a set of Ptx irons with Tk-15 wedges in 2018. They arrived a month before I was selected to participate in the Cobra Challenge. Suffice it to say, I benched the Hogans. I would pull them out of the closet once a year for a few rounds as I really enjoyed them. After shoulder surgery I put them back in the bag this year and that is where they are now. I enjoy the feel of the irons & wedges so very much. Along the way I picked up a VKTR 3H from a fellow Spy. These are some of the best clubs I have ever gamed. So sorry to hear of their demise.
It happened in the early morning hours of Feb. 2, 1949, Groundhog Day. On a fog-shrouded, ice-covered road 37 miles west of Van Horn, Texas, a Greyhound bus collided head-on with a recently purchased black Cadillac sedan carrying the sinewy Texan and his wife, Valerie. The couple was returning home to Fort Worth from Phoenix, where Hogan had lost a playoff to fellow Texan Jimmy Demaret. Indisputably, he was the top player in the game, having already won twice in January after a 10-win season in 1948 that included the money title and Vardon Trophy. In all, he had collected 37 titles since the end of World War II.
Which made the events one month later truly astonishing. Returning to competitive golf at the Los Angeles Open at friendly Riviera Country Club, where he had won the U.S. Open (and where, coincidentally, Woods now hosts a PGA Tour event that ended two day before his accident), Hogan somehow played well enough to take the lead thanks to a final-round 69. But Sam Snead birdied his final two holes for a five-under 66 to tie Hogan at four-under 280.
"She wanted to get the shoe back to the store where it belonged, but she was not in possession of the shoe," Shaw told WWJ's Scott Ryan. [13] In 96 American Law Reports 1428 (annotation on "Statute relating to costs or attorneys' fees at commencement or at termination of action as controlling") the law is epitomized as follows: "It is well settled that the question whether costs may be allowed in an action or suit, as well as the determination of the method of their computation, is governed by the law as it exists at the time of the judgment which terminates the action or suit, rather than by the law as it existed at the time when the action or suit was commenced,--where [38 Cal. 2d 815] there is no provision in connection with the new legislation which clearly saves or excepts therefrom costs in pending actions." The numerous illustrative cases which are cited show that statutes either increasing or decreasing the allowable costs, including attorney fees, are consistently applied to litigation pending when such statutes became effective, unless a contrary intent clearly appears from the statute.
"It is said that, when the Legislature provided that the defendant is entitled to require the plaintiff or plaintiffs to give security 'in any action instituted or maintained in the [38 Cal. 2d 816] right of any foreign or domestic corporation,' it disclosed an intention that the statute should apply not only in actions thereafter instituted but also in actions previously 'instituted' and thereafter 'maintained'. The word 'maintained' may be used in a context where it clearly denotes that it includes pending actions. (Cf. George Moore Ice Cream Co. v. Rose, 289 U.S. 373, 53 S. Ct. 620, 77 L. Ed. 1265.) In other context it has frequently been given other construction. (See cases collated in 38 C.J., Maintain, ÂÂ 2, 3, 4, 5.) In the statute we are now construing it is at most equivocal and does not, we think, disclose an intent of the Legislature that it should be applied in actions previously instituted."
Before discussing the main issue certain pertinent principles should be clarified inasmuch as the majority opinion either casts serious doubt upon them or repudiates them. The right to bring such an action is the established law of this state and elsewhere, except under the rules of procedure of the federal court, whether the shareholder was or was not a registered owner when the fraud was committed. It is a substantial right whether it be called procedural, property or otherwise. It is the only method whereby the fraud of the corporation management may be exposed and restitution obtained, contrary to the intimation of the majority opinion. In an attempt to ameliorate the serious consequence of its holding, the majority make the following highly misleading statements: "Stockholders, if they have a personal cause of action, are still free to sue the corporation, the majority stockholders, or the directors of the corporation, and to recover for any cause they can establish. ... Plaintiff's stock is still his; any personal rights of action he may possess as attributes or incidents of the stock are still his and, as already noted, are completely unaffected by section 834." There can be no doubt that the majority is fully cognizant of the fact that there is no other remedy or cause of action known to the law available to obtain the relief sought, other than the one here involved. Historically speaking the remedy here sought is equitable, as will appear from the discussion to follow.
