I want to copy my saves from one computer to another, and I'm not sure where they are located. I'm interested in the save files for the games from Pop Cap (Bejeweled Twist, Peggle, Bookworm, for example).

Two important growth platforms for PopCap have been the Facebook gaming platform, where it's one of the most popular game developers, and Apple's iPhone App Store, where PopCap was the only company to have two games in the "top grossing apps" list last year.

And that is where PopCap comes in! They were interested in working together with Raptisoft to make a better version of Eggsucker. They've made gameplay improvements, more graphics, more modes, you name it. They renamed it to 'Dynomite!'. This game went from a small impact, to a big impact, thanks to PopCap!

Being cynical. Just been through a lot of mergers lately where the good side got eviscerated by the bad side. I just don't think they'll have the room to be quirky and flourish under EA. Also concerned about talent leaving. Could turn out ok but I don't expect to see much quirky new stuff coming out of PopCap anymore. Which you hope EA would allow that but, they have to make their investment back in a timely fashion. Back in the day I thought EA was a quality brand then went through a bad time and haven't yet recovered. Though does the mean I can has Bookworm Adventures for WiiU or something Haysworth like.

A Pocket Gamer co-founder, Jon is Contributing Editor at PG.biz which means he acts like a slightly confused uncle who's forgotten where he's left his glasses. As well as letters and cameras, he likes imaginary numbers and legumes.

I understand EA has purchased "Popcap Games"...I'm trying to buy the game "Alchemy Deluxe", but am having trouble finding out where to do it. Can you help me with an updated URL where I can make this purchase? Thank you.

The two of them actually concocted a whole background and persona for this new, semi-imaginary studio. The founders, as Green and Johnston envisioned it, were two female game designers also located in the Seattle area, where PopCap's at.

A clinical trials mechanism is embedded in POPCaP to broaden treatment options, improve care for men with prostate cancer, and leverage the sequencing efforts in the network. The Prostate Cancer Analysis for Therapy Choice (PATCH) clinical trials network employs an umbrella study approach whereby alterations are identified through sequencing and veterans are given access to studies embedded at sites across the network. Graff and Huang provide a detailed description of the PATCH network and its potential as a multisite clinical trials mechanism.14 For studies within the network, funds can be provided to support travel to participate in clinical trials for veterans who would be eligible for study but do not live in a catchment for a network site. POPCaP also leverages both the resources of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers that are VA academic affiliates, as well as a VA/NCI partnership (NAVIGATE) to increase veteran access to NCI cutting-edge clinical trials.

Each play consists of a rune of a random color and shape being generated by the computer. The rune must be placed directly adjacent to at least one other rune (either above, below or to the left or right; runes located at a diagonal to the square have no meaning), unless the board is totally blank. All runes that are adjacent to the square where a rune is being placed must share its color or shape.[10]

The worst offenders are those ads I see on my phone (especially in the weather app) that look like actual phone notifications. One is where it says the battery is low. I know it is an ad and wouldn't press on it, but I am sure plenty of people are hitting it.

In general, "game engines" vary from minimalistic "frameworks" that still require considerable programming knowledge to feature laden "construction sets" where programming is easier (or even unnecessary in extreme cases).

The current build of DD runs at 60fps on my laptop. It will run fine on lesser hardware .... The code is very nearly back to where it was in the old engine. This by itself is a tribute to Popcap's well-done framework and how close it was to our old engine. Very little pain involved, we made the right call.

PopCap describes 4th & Battery as a, "pressure valve to stop our heads exploding". Essentially, it's a place where PopCap staff can experiment with small and sometimes edgy games that don't fit into the larger studio's painstaking development process.

EA subsidiary PopCap has confirmed layoffs in company "reorganization". The news kicked off over the weekend when 3D Realms founder George Broussard warned possible job cuts where coming to PopCap on Twitter.

At the point where PopCap has released its fifth game of the franchise, and a comic book that is already on its third story arc, fans of the series will start to see a very cohesive world created throughout. Jeremy Vanhoozer, franchise Creative Director for Plants vs. Zombies, had this to say when I asked him about the comics and their influence in Garden Warfare 2:

(aoc) 13,200 world pop mod+AuthorFile DescriptionPro_DarkPosted on 01/14/06 @ 10:49 AMFile DetailsNeeds AoC?:YesThis mod contains 2 parts, a dbworld.dat file (thanks to AznKnight for the original popcap mod) that alters the single player popcap to 13,200 and the civ points to 6299 (enough to buy all civ bonuses). If you don't like that but want the popcap I recomend also getting someone else's popcap mod for the single player side.

The send file, actualy files but they both do the same thing, are patch files that when applied to the Empire Earth - AoC executable file will set the popcap to 13,200 for multiplayer!!! This last part was a good bit of hard work but for anyone that still plays this (or wants to again but with lots of population), here you go!

NOTE that the multiplayer popcap will work fine without any other changes and is probably compatible with other mods. In other words you don't need a dbworld.dat file with modified popcap to play 13,200 online. Well shouldn't anyway, I would have that just to be safe as it wasn't tested without that file.

File AuthorPosted on 01/20/06 @ 06:27 PMJust wanted to add for those testing things out, it would seem that a system running with 512 megs ram and win2k, that the limit of popcap is actualy around 3000 to 5000 depending on map size. 3000 is safe with 5000 pushing your luck big time.

As for a 1 gig ram system (also windows 2000) it would seem that 8000 or so is near the limit (not 100% certain so to be safe er towards 1k or 2k less).

Not much testing on a 2 gig system but a 2 gig system can't quite handle 13200 (of course that system could have other issues other than memory... maybe it's winxp...)

When you go over the memory limit the system will become EXTREEMLY slow (like 1 frame every 2 to 5 seconds) and unstable (it should eventualy crash if you let it).

I hope everyone is loving this as much as me. Now I finaly have reason to look at rms files (we always found the 1200 popcap too restrictive and didn't play AOC much except solo).penguini_1Posted on 01/28/06 @ 03:18 AMUmm.... does this mod work online if the host is the only person with the mod installed? Or do all players have to have it installed...

Also... if you have it installed, and you join a game online where the host doesnt have it installed, will you still be able to play?Pro_Dark

File AuthorPosted on 03/06/06 @ 08:07 AMHonestly I don't *know* the answere to any of that. I would expect that since the game calculates a version number based on the files and modifications to the files then if you have the single player popcap change and/or the civ point increase installed that this will be taken into account in the calculation. The result being if the client/host doesn't have the same changes you won't be allowed to join.

As for the multiplayer popcap I don't know if the game takes into account changes (especialy small changes) to the file I altered. If it doesn't then the host will dictate the popcap even if the client is lacking the change. If the game does take this small change into account then same as above, need the same files.

I personaly don't play this online, just in house with friends on LAN and the multiplayer portion of this mod came about from that. It is rare that we don't connect right away since we all like the mods we play with even when not playing together.

Some extra tidbits while here: the computer that only had 512 megs of ram got an upgrade yet it still has trouble with popcaps over about 4k. You might want a beefy processor too (a medium level P4 or AMD equivalent + 1gig ram is good for massive but not maxed games, this mod has room to expand as you do). Also when you have hundreds (thousands!?) of units on screen at once some tend to blink in and out of existence. I have seen this on the systems that can play with 8k popcap and rarely (when everything is bunched in one spot) 6k games. It mostly happens when the AI builds lots of citicens and I go a slaughtering... It could be the game purposely removing units from the render process (looks likely) or the video card since the computers able to play those big games are equiped with 6800GTs.

This mod has brought AOC back into our playing where AOC got pushed asside for quite a while for things like starcraft; which has issues for us too, relating to global unit limits, try playing a drawn out game against 7 computers and you will see it. Since this mod we have played quite a lot :)andyshevtsovPosted on 03/20/06 @ 03:40 PMHi i want to know where i can get eestudio.

(It's a very nice mod but it doesn't work on multiplayer I'm afraid. Thanks...)

Additional Comments:If you tell me how I can fix this problem, I would be glad. Thanks a lot!

EEEanPosted on 11/14/06 @ 11:39 AMHow Do i get it to work ?Pro_Dark

File AuthorPosted on 11/22/06 @ 09:16 AMI haven't been about for a bit so I didn't notice the help topics...

Anyhoo, to get it to work read the readme carefully. You require extra software (besides this package) such as ppfomatic (very user friendly).

The popcap for multiplayer is hard coded in a few places in the exe itself and I figured out where and what to change but posting a pre-modded exe is legaly iffy hence the use of a patch file.

As this patches the exe to allow larger multiplayer games if sierra put out a patch after this then this patch is broken, from the readme make sure that your game is version 1.00.7497 (also this only works for art of conquest). Mods can cause this version number to change but chances are if the version is 1.00 then you should be fine. If the exe file has been significantly modified (such as an official patch) from the file that the ips file was created for the ips patch will not even try (or at least it's not supposed to). I mention this patch stuff as I noticed patch 1.04 and don't know if it's for aoc or not.

So to boil it down a lot: If the ips patch is not installed for whatever reason then multiplayer popcap will not be modified.

As for cheats, not likely. Cheats in multiplayer/campain are not likely to be as simple as multiplayer popcap and the multiplayer popcap was done for myself and friends that still lan this game (rarely lately) and I thought I would be nice and release it to the world rather than keep it to myself...

request: could someone confirm if the 1.04 patch is for AOC and that it changes unmodded game's version number? If so then I will try to find time (and space) to update this multiplayer patch to 1.04...Pages: [1] 2  Last
