When is Iftar & Suhoor?
This privacy policy describes how the app "When is Iftar & Suhoor?" ("we", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information we collect
Account information: If you create an account (email/password or Sign in with Apple), we store your email address and the name you provide (e.g. first and last name) in a secure backend (Firebase/Firestore) to manage your account and display your profile in the app.
Location / city: The app uses your selected city or device location to calculate prayer times (Iftar and Suhoor). Your chosen city may be stored locally on your device so the app can show times without asking again. We do not upload your precise location to our servers for tracking.
Prayer time data: Prayer times are calculated using your location and date. This data is obtained from third-party services; we do not store your prayer time history on our servers.
2. How we use your information
To provide and personalize the app (e.g. show your name, send Iftar/Suhoor reminders).
To manage your account and, if you use in-app purchase, to process purchases (handled by Apple).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-party services
Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication and cloud storage of your account data. Their privacy policy applies to that data: Firebase Privacy.
Apple: Sign in with Apple and in-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple’s privacy policy and terms apply: Apple Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app may send local reminders (e.g. before Iftar or Suhoor). These are scheduled on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server unless we clearly state so in the app.
5. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account from within the app (Settings). When you delete your account, we remove your profile and account data from our systems. Some data may remain in backups for a limited period as required by our provider.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
