I live nearish the german border and routinely go shopping there. I've noticed since the coolwalk AA update that i can't have a stable connection more than a few seconds at a time. I have to disconnect/reconnect the cable (skoda octavia late 2017) several times for waze to show up, only to shut down almost immediately. The screen is usually saying my phone is not compatible. Works like a charm in my own country, but the moment i cross the border bam, no more android auto for me. Comes back almost by itself once i've crossed back.

I've noticed that behaviour before coolwalk, waze would lose the destination and will recalculate without using the internet (meaning no traffic info). My roaming settings are set to keep the data active (free roaming in Europe, yay). So i am a bit at loss here.

i am having trouble getting my devices (cell phones and laptop) to automatically connect to my extender EX7700. I have set everything up properly through the xr500. I have my router in my living room on the main level of my home, and my extender is about 35 feet away upstairs. as i travel upstairs with my devices, they wont automatically connect to the stronger signal of my extender. They stay connected to my router on the main level, even though the signal goes to 1 or 2 bars. If i disconnect the wifi on my phones or laptop and reconnect, they connect to the extender properly and get blazing fast speeds.

I have the R7800 router and the EX7700 and the EX6250. However my phone does not auto connect either. I will be doing something and move upstairs, then the connection icon comes up and I lose connectivity. I then tur off Wi-Fi and on again and it connects to the extender. This is also happening the other way.

Do I need to activate Roaming Subscription to use data roaming?

To use data while roaming, you only need to activate Data Passport or Data Roaming depending on the country that you are visiting via My M1+ App.

Peer-to-peer roaming includes bilateral agreements between two service providers. This type of roaming enables two prominent market players to consolidate their market position and pursue more profits.

The technology behind peer-to-peer roaming is called Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI), a protocol that enables a connection between CPOs and EMSPs. This protocol was defined by the EVRoaming Foundation and is being constantly developed.

The truth is that the EV roaming market is not yet very mature. The protocols and standards for interoperability covering the EU countries are lacking. But many things are under work, mainly from a pricing and contractual regulations perspective.

Functioning and reliable EV roaming is necessary for the mass adoption of electric vehicles. Roaming networks open up access to thousands of charging stations globally. With broad EV charging options, EV drivers can forget about range anxiety, which still, to this day, is a common worry holding consumers back from purchasing an EV. Roaming offers EV drivers a consistent and hassle-free charging experience no matter where they drive.

The benefits of EV roaming go further than the convenience for EV drivers. For CPOs, EV roaming presents an increased utilisation of their existing charging points, the potential to attract new customers and an opportunity to open a new revenue stream.

Roaming can bring you 10x more potential EV drivers who can charge at your charging stations. Since Virta is part of Hubject and Gireve, two major roaming platforms, millions of EV drivers get access to your charging stations. In some cases, the utilization rate of your charger can be improved by up to 600%.

And vice versa, with roaming, your customers can access over 250 000 charging stations globally. Roaming holds enormous value, both for you and your customers. At Virta, we can help you discover that value for yourself.

Data roaming is when your phone uses a mobile network that is not owned by your network provider to send and receive data. This most commonly happens when you use your phone abroad. Your provider may charge you extra for data roaming.

Until 1 January 2021, there were no extra charges for using mobile data, making calls, or sending text messages when using your phone in the European Union. However, since then, some mobile providers have reintroduced roaming charges. You can check whether your network provider has roaming charges, along with more information about using your mobile abroad, here:

International roaming is easy with plans that allow you to use your mobile device while you are traveling outside of the United States. Find out more on this page, or check out our International roaming site for rates and additional info.

Our Pay in Advance plans let you stay in touch when traveling abroad. Find out more by visiting the Pay in Advance international roaming & rates page. Keep in mind, data usage is not available for Pay in Advance accounts while roaming internationally.

If you block all international roaming, you'll no longer be able to call, text or use data for the selected line while roaming outside the US. You can still use Wi-Fi for calls and text; additional charges may apply.

As a wireless client roams in an area covered by Meraki APs advertising the same SSID, it will try and associate to the AP that provides the strongest signal. The wireless adapter on the client device measures the RSSI on received frames sent by APs in order to make roaming decisions. A seamless roaming experience is one in which a mobile client can move AP to AP without experiencing a disruption in network aware applications.

When roaming on a mesh network, the mesh will make every effort to keep your existing sessions routed through the gateway Access Point on which the session was initiated. This allows application (Layer 7) sessions to remain connected. Since there is no guarantee that another gateway will have the same backhaul, changing routes over the mesh for a single session is avoided as much as possible. Newer sessions will be initiated via the current best route to the internet.

Note: In NAT mode, wireless clients are NAT'd to the IP address of the gateway AP they are associated to. This is called the Meraki NAT. Moving between APs in NAT mode will cause the source IP address of outbound wireless client traffic to change on the outside of the Meraki NAT. Based the nature of NAT mode, connections will break when moving from AP to AP. Applications requiring continuous traffic streams such as VoIP, VPN or media streams will be disrupted when roaming between APs. Traffic such as web browsing which is bursty will break but without a noticeable effect when roaming AP to AP.

Note: Since Bridge mode SSIDs can only allow communication on the same VLAN, L3 Roaming or L3 with a concentrator will be necessary to roam between subnets. Be advised that due to the additional overhead involved with these configurations, they are not ideal for a completely seamless roaming experience.

Auto download is a useful feature that allows users to automatically download SMS and MMS messages without having to tap to start the download. However, downloading multimedia messages (MMS) to a device while roaming can be expensive. Follow the instructions below to find out how to disable this mode.

More or less the same than when I use 2.4+5 GHz in the same SSID and a mobility domain.

2.4 GHz configured as 40 MHz (but it only uses 20 MHz as there are too many overlapped nets) and 5 GHz configured as 80 MHz (in a channel that there is nobody or at least sometime one ssid with low poser detected from my site).

And when I get my new router from the ISP (that will be in the other part of the house, to get wifi there) it will be configure the same way, with the same MDID if I find the way to configure the MDID in it or to get the MDID it is using.

Drop 802.11r for now as there are many other parameters configured and it is unlikely your ISP-supplied router even supports it, not to mention configures it the same way. 802.11r is not required for roaming and is supported by very few clients. Auto for channel does not change the channel dynamically.

OK, so you think it would work better with no roaming activated, just the same SSID and password, due to compatibility problems with client and other router firmware.

That is how I had it configuered till now in my ISP gateway and my DD-WRT router, and it worked, may be not so quick changes from one AP to another, but it worked.

I didnt think that there was an auto bw function that would drop you back if interfered with? Hence the common reccomendation to not even bother w 40mhz on 2.4, if its busy. All devices supposed have that feature, or only some?

Probably better to not have it toggling between bandwidths as neighborhood traffic goes up and down. I'd guess it would have to drop the link or at least pause while things reconfigured and synced up. More slowing down...

Have you ever wondered how your WiFi connection follows you around the building? This useful networking feature is called Roaming. WiFi roaming occurs when a wireless client device moves outside the usable range of one router or access point (AP) and connects to a different one. The client device automatically switches from one router (or access point) to another extender or mesh access point as needed to provide seamless connectivity. In this ideal scenario, you will not experience the inconvenience of choppy video calls and low download speeds when walking from one side of a building to another. 006ab0faaa
