Nach dem Krieg :

Jeanne ist mit Franz Neumann verheiratet, einem Mann jüdischen Glaubens, mit dem sie die zwei Söhne Léonard und Sammy bekommt. 

Im Juli 1945 besteigt die Familie Neumann ein Schiff und reist nach Palästina, wo 1948 der jüdische Staat Israel entsteht. Fünf Jahre später kehrt Jeanne allein mit Léonard nach Frankreich zurück, um ihre Tätigkeit als Krankenschwester wieder aufzunehmen. Sammy bleibt mit seinem Vater in Israel. 

Jeanne ist Diabetikerin und leidet an Herzproblemen, weswegen sie mehrmals ins Krankenhaus muss. Jeanne stirbt 1971 im Alter von 63 Jahren im Krankenhaus von Créteil.

Im Februar 1996 unternimmt Samuel Neumann mit seiner Frau eine Reise nach Italien. Sie nutzen die Gelegenheit, um nach Frankreich zu kommen, und Léonard zu besuchen. Samuel braucht einen Geburtsnachweis. In Leonards Keller steht ein Koffer seiner Mutter in dem er die Papiere über sie aufbewahrt. Hierin befinden sich Briefe, die nie geöffnet wurden, und ein blaues Schulheft, in dem Jeanne ihre Erinnerungen notiert hat. Dank dieses Hefts kann Jeannes Lebensweg nachvollzogen werden.

In 1942, she married Franz Neumann, a man of Jewish faith, with whom she had two children: Samuel, whom she entrusted to her friend in Ailly-sur-Somme, Alice Rosenstiehl, at the height of her resistance activities, and Leonard. 

In July 1945, the Neumann family boarded the ship and found themselves in the "Promised Land".  Five years later, Jeanne returns to France alone with Léonard to resume her work as a nurse. Sammy stays in Israel with his father. 

Jeanne is a diabetic and suffers from heart problems, which put her in hospital several times. Jeanne dies on December 14, 1971 at the age of 63 in the hospital in Créteil.

In February 1996, on the occasion of Samuel Neumann's wife Mira's 50th birthday, the couple went on a trip to Italy. They took the opportunity to come to France to visit Léonard, Samuel's brother. Samuel needs proof of his birth. In Leonard's cellar there is a suitcase that belonged to his mother and in which he keeps the papers about her. The suitcase contains letters that have never been opened and a blue exercise book in which Jeanne wrote down her memories. Thanks to this notebook, it was possible to trace Jeanne's life. Samuel discovers her story, of which he had known nothing. He and his wife travel back to Israel as planned, but he returns to France with his older daughter Anne Karine. Samuel works for Israeli television. They meet Alice on March 5, 1996 in Ailly-sur-Somme. Samuel dies in 2017, aged 74.

Jeanne est diabétique et souffre de problèmes cardiaques qui la conduisent plusieurs fois à l'hôpital. Jeanne meurt le 14 décembre 1971 à l'hôpital de Créteil, à l'âge de 63 ans.

En février 1996, à l'occasion des 50 ans de la femme de Samuel Neumann, Mira, le couple part en voyage en Italie. Ils en profitent pour se rendre en France afin de rendre visite à Léonard, le frère de Samuel. Samuel a besoin d'un certificat de naissance. Dans la cave de Léonard se trouve une valise qui a appartenu à sa mère et dans laquelle il conserve les papiers la concernant. Dans cette valise se trouvent des lettres qui n'ont jamais été ouvertes et un cahier d'écolier bleu dans lequel Jeanne a noté ses souvenirs. Grâce à ce cahier, le parcours de Jeanne a pu être retracé. Samuel découvre son histoire, dont il n'avait pas connaissance.  Lui et sa femme repartent en Israël comme prévu, mais il revient en France avec sa fille aînée, Anne Karine. Samuel travaille pour la télévision israélienne. Ils rencontrent Alice le 5 mars 1996 à Ailly-sur-Somme. Samuel décède en 2017, à l'âge de 74 ans.
