Quorum Meeting
Opening prayer was given by Bro. Mel Hansen.
We also welcomed visitors and expressed appreciation for those who served - especially with helping ministering families and neighbors with snow removal. More snow is expected this week so please ensure your families’ needs are met.
We also invited members to share experiences to “love, share, or invite” others during the past couple of weeks. Several quorum members described some experiences and blessings while “loving, sharing, and inviting.” This topic led nicely into our quorum discussion led by Bro. Rob Green.
Bro. Green started our discussion by reviewing the story told in Elder Gary E Stevensen’s conference talk from October 2022. The story told of a young man from Utah who went to a national event and had to wear a name tag that identified him as being from Utah. Almost immediately, he was asked if he was a “Mormon” and he responded he was. They asked further questions to the point of “do you really believe that?” Once he responded affirmatively, some chose to make fun, but one young man asked more questions and was really wanting to know.
The quorum discussed this experience and how it compared to our own experiences. Several members discussed their opportunities and the outcomes. We then talked about what it means to have a testimony and what are the basic principles that a testimony needs to contain. We also discussed how our actions alone can portray our testimonies without using words. A good discussion about nurturing and bearing our testimonies.
Closing prayer by Bro. Mark May

Quorum Meeting
Today’s quorum meeting began with discussing ministering and the recent leadership meeting with Elder Neil L. Anderson, Bp. Causse, Elder Pearson, Elder Murray and Sis. Dennis of the General RS Presidency. We talked about what’s easy and what’s hard with ministering. We then looked to the scriptures in John chapter 1 about two friends, Philip and Nathaniel, and how one wanted his friend to know about the Savior. When Nathaniel expressed doubt, his friend simply said: come and see.
Opening prayer was given by Bro. Jerry Chatterton.
We also welcomed visitors and expressed appreciation for those who served - especially with the activity on Thursday and snow removal. More snow is expected and we have the responsibility through January to remove snow during the week and weekends.
We also invited members to share experiences to “love, share, or invite” others during the past couple of weeks. Several quorum members described some experiences and blessings while “loving, sharing, and inviting.”
Bro. Jasper led our discussion on Elder Steven J. Lund’s talk entitled “Lasting Discipleship.” Elder Lund is the Young Men’s general president and his talk was a lot about the youth and how they stay strong. Bro. Jasper had us take those principles and apply them to us and how we can spiritually strengthen ourselves and our families and friends. We reviewed a few parts of the talk and then collected in small groups to discuss what things help us keep increasing in spiritual strength. We concluded there is no “arc of growth” without the simple and regular prayer and study, but other activities can accelerate our strength once our minds and hearts are focused on Him. We also hinted that if we can identify the things that help us be strong and continue growing, we can also identify those things that take away our growth. Plus, our growth can and will influence others close to us and even those farther away. We talked about how our quorum can influence and strengthen people outside of our immediate organization. Striving to keep growing is a life-long endeavor with realized joy and happiness in this life as well as increased hope in the next.
Closing prayer by Bro. Kevin McEvoy

Quorum Meeting
Today’s quorum meeting began by Bro. Hirschi encouraging quorum members to attend the temple for our upcoming temple night - and to do an initiatory session before the endowment session to remind ourselves of the blessings we have been given and those we’re helping to bring to our kindred dead.
Opening prayer was given by Bro. Tom Summers.
We also welcomed visitors and expressed appreciation for those who served - especially last week with snow removal. More snow is expected and we have the responsibility through January to remove snow during the week and weekends.
We also invited members to share experiences to “love, share, or invite” others during the past couple of weeks. Several quorum members described some experiences and blessings while “loving, sharing, and inviting.”
Bro. Moss led our discussion on Elder Ronald A. Rasband’s talk entitled “This Day.” We quickly reviewed the major premise of the talk (flood the world with the Book of Mormon), but focused a majority of our time on discussing the best ways to do that. We first discussed the questions people might have and how those questions can be answered in the Book of Mormon. We also identified that people will likely have questions after experiencing trials or other difficulties, so we also tried to identify how to build relationships through love where sharing the Book of Mormon will be natural and an extension of who we are.

Quorum Meeting
Today’s quorum meeting began by welcoming visitors and expressing appreciation for those who served at the temple cleaning assignment. Several expressed the blessings that came to them from participating in the assignment.
We also invited members to share opportunities to “love, share, or invite” others during the past couple of weeks. Several quorum members described some experiences and blessings while “loving, sharing, and inviting.”
Bro. Nathan Howes led our discussion on Elder Jeffrey R. Holland’s talk entitled “Lifted Up upon the Cross.” We first talked about symbols and why corporations use symbols - like McDonald’s, Apple, Google, etc. Then, we discussed why some use the symbol of the cross to show their Christian membership. Elder Holland explained to a student why members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints don’t use the symbol of the cross. Quorum members identified several reasons why that is. From the talk, Elder Holland described how he explained the reasons to the student, including scriptural references. He then said, in his talk, that he wanted to continue that discussion.
Besides all of the other reasons, Elder Holland quoted former President Gordon B. Hinckley about the “lives of our members need to be the symbol of our faith.” Elder Holland then reminded us all to think of what it means to be a Christian - especially those of us who have made covenants, starting with baptism. He also emphasized the Lord’s invitation to us all: “If any man [or woman] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
One of the best quotes in the talk was that we Christians should consider how we bear the cross more than how we wear it. That often means there will likely be trials in our lives as we strive to follow Him. Those trials may be personal to us or to others around us, but each are opportunities to grow and learn and become like Him. If bearing our own cross and the crosses of others is the true measure of being a Christian, then surely the blessings that come solidify our convictions and improve our abilities. Elder Holland said,
“Sometimes these blessings come soon and sometimes they come later, but the marvelous conclusion to our personal via dolorosa is the promise from the Master Himself that they do and will come. To obtain such blessings, may we follow Him—unfailingly, never faltering nor fleeing, never flinching at the task, not when our crosses may be heavy and not when, for a time, the path may grow dark.”
Elder Holland closed his talk by saying, “I bear apostolic witness of Him who was “lifted up”and of the eternal blessings He bestows to those “lifted up” with Him.”
At the end of our meeting, Bro. Howes asked us about the other symbols or traditions we have at Christmastime. Several members cited theirs with the implied reminder for all of us to remember Him - this season and always.
