Kids Sports, activities & Camps

You can help pay for your child's sports registration costs by working a bingo! When you work a bingo for our community league, you will earn $40 in credits that you can apply to your child's registration in approved community sports. See upcoming bingo dates.

Basketball

Northwest Basketball offers a variety of recreational and competitive basketball opportunities for youth (age 5-18) in all of Northwest Edmonton. All Northwest youth teams (except Mites Category), play league games as part of the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association (EYBA).

Indoor/Outdoor Soccer & Soccer Camps

Edmonton West Zone Soccer Association (EMSA West) is part of the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association and as such is dedicated to the development of youth soccer. They provide soccer programs for all ages and skill levels, including Soccer Camps.

Indoor & Outdoor Tennis

Edmonton Junior Tennis Society provides affordable and accessible tennis programs for children. With an emphasis on skill development, children participate in mini-tennis formats that use age and skill appropriate equipment and court sizes, to ensure early success and enjoyment.

Softball

High Park Softball is a softball program based out of the High Park Community League that plays in the Edmonton Youth Softball Association. Registration is open to any new or experienced player from U6 (T-Ball) to U21 (Junior). Spring training is provided at no extra cost and equipment is provided for all teams.

City of Edmonton

Bike Safety Program

Learn about the parts of your bike, road and trail rules, riding drills and cycling etiquette. This free drop-in program is targeted for children aged 6-12, but all children accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend.

Day Camps

Make new friends, learn new skills and have a blast at City of Edmonton day camps! With neighbourhood camps hosted at community halls & spaces across the city, there's bound to be an exciting and engaging program near you!

Green Shack

Join in on games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events. A complete list of activities and special events are posted on the side of Green Shacks each week. If there is a game or activity that peaks your child's interest that you would like to have included in programming, just ask the Program Leader.

Leaders in Training

The Leader in Training (LIT) program helps youth develop leadership skills and gain valuable experience while having fun with children. It allows youth to give back to your community and earn leadership or volunteer hours for school too!

Outdoor Swimming

Visit any of the City's outdoor swimming pools and have a whale of a time splashing, socializing with friends and family or simply relaxing for the day.

The closest outdoor pool to WMCL is Fred Broadstock (15720 105 Ave).

Skateparks

Skateparks are open to any skateboarders, BMX riders, push scooters and inline skaters. Motorized vehicles are not permitted.

The closest skatepark to WMCL is at Callingwood (17740 69 Ave).

Spray Parks

The best way to stay cool during the summer months is to head to one of the City’s free, drop in water play features.

WMCL has it's own spray park. Nearby spray parks include Rio Terrace (15504 76 Avenue) and Elmwood (16415 83 Avenue).

Yeg Youth

Find recreation opportunities, employment, leadership training and drop-in programs for youth. This includes various drop-in programs, Leaders in Training, Nîkâniw Indigenous Youth Leadership Program, Rising Youth, and more!

The Edmonton Public Library runs several programs throughout the year, including special events on Family Day, during Spring Break, and during Summer.

At the Edmonton Valley Zoo, learning is encouraged through inspiring, engaging and fun activities.
