Westfield Seeds of Change is a family-run community gardening initiative based in Westfield. Started by a local high school student with a passion for gardening and giving back, the project connects local gardeners with nearby food pantries by collecting fresh produce donations throughout the summer.
If gardeners have extra vegetables from a bumper crop, are going away on vacation, or simply want to donate part of their harvest, they can drop off produce at our collection location in Westfield. Donations are then delivered daily to local food pantries to help provide fresh fruits and vegetables to families in the community.
Over the past few years, Westfield Seeds of Change has grown through the support of neighbors, gardeners, and community partners who believe that even small donations from a backyard garden can make a real impact. Along with produce collection, we also work to encourage new gardeners to get involved by sharing resources, seedlings, and ideas throughout the growing season.
All of our daily donations go to support the St. James Food Pantry in Woodbridge, NJ. For more information on their pantry you can visit the link below!
