Today, we want to say thank you and good luck to Coach Brad Farish.

Since arriving in Edmonton in 2016, Brad has been an integral part of WEBA and the FX Boys Basketball program for the past 10 years. Over that time, he grew into the roles of WEBA President, Boys Basketball Director, and Head Coach of the FX Senior Men’s Basketball program, helping shape the direction and culture of our programs.

Brad’s passion for the game, commitment to excellence, and laser-like focus led to tremendous success on the court, including numerous championships and Coach of the Year honors. But his greatest impact goes far beyond wins and awards.

The relationships he built with players, the standards he set, and the habits he instilled have helped countless athletes pursue their goals and dreams in the classroom, on the court, and in life. Today, so many FX and WEBA alumni are thriving because of the foundation Coach Brad helped build.

As he begins the next chapter of his coaching journey as an Assistant Coach with the University of Calgary Dinos, we want to thank him for everything he has done for our athletes, families, and community.

The Dinos are getting a great one, and we know Brad will bring the same relentless work ethic, passion, and leadership that made such a lasting impact here in Edmonton.

We are incredibly proud of Coach Brad and all that he has accomplished.

Good luck, Coach. Thank you for everything.

On behalf of WEBA, the St. Francis Xavier Rams, and their respective communities, we would like to congratulate Elijah Thomas (ET4Three) on his commitment to the University of Calgary Dinos Men’s Basketball Program.

Elijah has been part of WEBA since 2019, with the Thomas family connected to the program from its early years. From his brothers representing WEBA to his father, Jeff, contributing as a coach, it has been a privilege to work with such a committed and passionate family.

Elijah is a fearless competitor defined by discipline, consistency, and a true love for the game. While his success may have surprised some, it was never a surprise to us—we saw the work he put in year after year.

Since joining St. Francis Xavier in 2023, Elijah made an immediate impact. It wasn’t just his skill, but his character that set him apart—competing every day with purpose, focus, and fearlessness.

Over three seasons, Elijah played a key role in three Metro Division 1 Championships and three Provincial Championship appearances, finishing runner-up in 2024 and 2026, and capturing the Provincial title in 2025. He was also named Team MVP (2025) and a Metro Division 1 First Team All-Star (2026).

Elijah also represented Team Alberta at the U15 (2023) and U17 (2024, 2025) levels, winning gold at Nationals in 2025 while earning Second Team All-Star honours.

WEBA and St. Francis Xavier thank Elijah for his commitment and leadership. We are incredibly proud and look forward to following his journey at the next level!

On behalf of WEBA, the St. Francis Xavier Rams, and their respective communities, we would like to congratulate Aleks Popovic (a.k.a. “Big Poppa”) on his commitment to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Men’s Basketball Program.

Aleks joined both WEBA and St. Francis Xavier in 2022 and remained a dedicated member of each program through to his graduation in 2025. During that time, he experienced tremendous success. His passion for the game and relentless commitment to improvement made him an ideal fit within each program. Aleks approached every offseason with purpose, consistently elevating his skill set, strength, and overall development—returning each year a more complete and impactful player. This dedication translated directly into his success during the high school season.

Throughout his time with St. Francis Xavier, Aleks established himself as one of the most dominant big men in Western Canada. Over three seasons, he played a key role in securing two Metro Division 1 Senior Boys City Championships and two appearances in the 4A Boys Provincial Championship, finishing as runner-up in 2024 and capturing the Provincial Championship in 2025. In recognition of his outstanding performance, Aleks was also named a Metro All-Star in 2025.

The WEBA and St. Francis Xavier communities thank Aleks for his years of commitment and loyalty. Each program is incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and look forward to following his continued success at the next level.

Our program and community couldn't be more proud of Eternity! Eternity, along with the entire Eguagie family, has been a part of our program for several years, and we have been honored to work with this wonderful family and support Eternity through his journey. This young man's path has not been easy, marked by significant highs and lows. Yet, Eternity has continued to bet on himself, year after year, making consistent progress and taking bold steps forward. We are excited to announce we are Canada Basketball Verified. The Verification Program integrates important aspects of coaching, Safe Sport, and organizational leadership. Displaying the Verified logo above, indicates that we have been reviewed by our governing bodies and have added accountability to create welcoming, safe, and developmentally appropriate environments for everyone. Like other Verified groups across Canada, we have committed to raise standards to provide the best athlete experience possible for all participants, including: 

• Mandatory background checks and Safe Sport Training for all coaches
