We will be using Quizlet throughout the year to improve our vocabulary. Quizlet give you the opportunity to use online flashcards, play games, and test yourself. In short, it allows you to tailor it to your learning style.
In addition to Quizlet (or perhaps someone could create Quzlet note cards for these), you should take it upon yourself to study the class-created list of words that will help you on the midterm exam.
Rhetorical Strategies:
To write an effective rhetorical analysis, you must explain what the writer hoped to accomplish and how the writer's rhetorical choices accomplished that purpose. Author's primary choices often involve structuring the piece in a way that shows awareness of how the AUDIENCE will perceive their SUBJECT. Although your rhetorical analyses should focus primarily on the MAIN ways the author achieves their purpose, it is also helpful to identify when an author repeatedly uses smaller-scale strategies.
