I have used wemo for a number of years since they released and over the years have accumulated mostly smart plugs and a single smart switch (the OG version with the little green power symbol that is not homekit compatible). We moved into a new home and I need another switch or two and naturally I reached for Wemo's that were on sale (the store only had 1 left). Not staying up to date or thinking too deeply into why there was just 1 switch on the store shelf that after installing it that things are working good with HomeKit. It wasn't until I looked up WEMO online that I discovered that Belkin is saying WEMO is decommissioned. This is obviously very concerning as I just purchased a new WEMO product and I expect it to last me many years. I'd rather NOT invest in a dead eco system and I have my chance to return this newly purchased switch and just use what I currently have until they're no longer usable.

I tried to restart Homey from the app, without luck, so I uninstalled the original Wemo app that I had, and pulled the power plug on the Homey and restarted it that way.

That seemed to make my Homey work again with the other devices, but for now I have no support for my 5 wemo switches.

I recently transitioned from hass.io for raspberry pi 3 to a laptop and it is not immediately finding my wemo devices on my network. The entities in lovelace show the Entity not available: block. I will have to either wait several hours for them to populate correctly, or since these are wemo bulbs, I can powercycle the wemo link device and they show up almost immediately. I cannot see anything in the logs in regards to the wemo component.

My Scene Controller switch I just bought from Amazon refuses to update to the latest firmware. It's stuck on version 2.3.3 which means it's not thread enabled. It's been several days since it was added to Homekit. I have several other wemo scene controllers in two different homes and all the rest updated within the firs half hour of adding to Home.

Supported devices will be automatically discovered if the optional discovery configuration item is omitted or set to true or if the discovery integration is enabled. If the discovery configuration item is set to false, then automatic discovery of WeMo devices is disabled both for the wemo integration and for the discovery integration. Loading the wemo integration with the discovery configuration item omitted or set to true will scan the local network for WeMo devices, even if you are not using the discovery integration.

For WeMo Light Switches and Dimmers, pressing the button on the device for two seconds will activate a long press event. The long-press can trigger an automationeither by using an event trigger or a device trigger. For an event trigger the event_type will be wemo_subscription_event. The event data will have a type parameterset to the value LongPress and a name parameter indicating the dimmer or light switch that was triggered.

Basically, what we're doing is making use of a netsh command to get a list of devices, and their addresses. Then we try to access the setup.xml on the different ports that we know the wemo devices can run on. When we get a proper response, it contains all the upnp device info, which we can then parse for anything we'd like to know about the device. In this sample, I just made a simplified parsing, just checking if it contains the word "Belkin". It does kind of work, but we should be parsing the UDN to determine model, and friendlyName to show to the end-user. Else, other devices made by Belkin might show up. ff782bc1db
