This Privacy Policy describes how NioMaker (“NioMaker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information in connection with the Chrome extension Wellfound Scraper - Export Startup Jobs to CSV (the “Extension”).
This page is the privacy policy for the Extension. It is not a company homepage or marketing page.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
1. Single purpose
The Extension’s single purpose is to help a user export publicly available Wellfound job listings that the user is viewing into CSV, JSON, or Excel files on the user’s own device.
We collect, use, and transmit only the data needed for that purpose and related operations, such as saving progress, remembering settings, checking subscription status, and processing payment.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Website content on wellfound.com (processed locally)
When you start an export on wellfound.com, the Extension reads job-listing content from pages you are viewing, including fields such as job title, job URL, company name, location, compensation, description, and related public listing metadata.
This website content is processed on your device so the Extension can build the export file. We do not upload scraped job listings to NioMaker servers. The export file is saved to your computer by your browser’s download function.
2.2 Local extension storage
The Extension stores the following on your device using Chrome’s local storage:
an anonymous device token (a randomly generated UUID) used to identify your installation for subscription status;
your export settings (for example file format, download options, and retry intervals);
temporary scrape progress / checkpoint data so an interrupted export can resume;
a local flag indicating whether the current installation has an active Pro subscription.
This local data stays on your device unless you uninstall the Extension, clear extension storage, or you choose to send specific account-recovery information as described below.
2.3 Information sent to NioMaker
The Extension sends a limited set of data to https://api.niomaker.com over HTTPS:
Anonymous installation token and app identifier — to check whether the installation has an active Pro plan and to enforce the free-plan export limit.
Email address and order ID — only if you manually use “Change token” / restore subscription. We use these values solely to look up your existing purchase and restore access on this device.
If you start a paid checkout, the Extension opens our checkout page with your anonymous installation token, app identifier, and selected plan ID so the order can be linked to this installation.
2.4 Payment information
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor on our checkout page. We do not collect or store your full credit-card number, bank account number, or other raw payment-card data. We may receive subscription status, order ID, billing dates, and cancellation-related URLs from the processor so we can provide Pro features and let you manage or cancel your subscription.
2.5 Information we do not collect
We do not collect your Wellfound password or Wellfound session cookies for our servers.
We do not sell user data.
We do not use scraped job listings for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling.
We do not collect browsing history outside wellfound.com.
The Extension is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
provide the export functionality you requested;
save progress and settings on your device;
determine free vs Pro access and enforce the disclosed usage limit;
restore a paid subscription when you provide your email and order ID;
process payment and provide subscription management;
provide customer support when you contact us;
maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:
Service providers. Hosting / API infrastructure for api.niomaker.com, and our payment processor for checkout and subscription billing. These parties process data only to provide their services to us.
You. Exported CSV / JSON / Excel files are created for you and downloaded to your device. What you do with those files is under your control.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NioMaker, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If NioMaker is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not share scraped Wellfound listings with advertisers, data brokers, or other unrelated third parties.
5. Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
User data obtained through the Extension, including website content read from wellfound.com, is used only to provide or improve the Extension’s single purpose. We do not use this data to determine creditworthiness, for unrelated advertising, or to sell it to third parties.
6. Storage, security, and retention
Remote requests to NioMaker use HTTPS.
Job-listing exports and scrape checkpoints are stored locally in Chrome extension storage or as files you download.
Local data is retained until you clear it, uninstall the Extension, or it is no longer needed for an in-progress export.
Server-side subscription records (anonymous token, plan status, and, if you restored a purchase, email / order ID) are retained while the subscription or support need exists, and then deleted or anonymized when no longer required for billing, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited data we handle.
7. Your choices and rights
You can stop all collection by the Extension by uninstalling it from Chrome.
You can clear locally stored data in Chrome’s extension settings, or by uninstalling the Extension.
You can cancel a paid subscription from the Extension’s Pro page, or by contacting us.
To access, correct, or delete personal information we hold (for example an email used to restore a subscription), email help@niomaker.com.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or another region with similar laws, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law.
8. International processing
NioMaker may process information in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your country. We protect the information as described in this Policy.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
