[2023] Together with Dr. Zhiqiang Wei (XJTU) and Dr. Shuangyang Li (UWA), we will deliver a tutorial on Delay-Doppler Domain Communications and Sensing in IEEE ICC 2023 (May@Rome, Italy)
In this tutorial, we will first overview the background and fundamentals of DD domain communications and sensing. As a step further, we will introduce the state-of-the-art research progress on this topic, which consists of 3 technical parts: 1) Fundamentals of DD domain communications in single-antenna systems, 2) Recent advances of DD domain multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, and 3) DD domain communications with integrated sensing functionality. Finally, we will conclude the tutorial by summarizing the future directions and open problems of DD domain communications and sensing.

I received my B. Engineering and B. Economics degrees from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, in 2013, and my Ph. D degrees from BIT and University of Technology Sydney, Australia, in 2019. I am currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China. Prior to that, I was a Research Associate with the Wireless Communications Lab in the University of New South Wales, Australia. During 2017 and 2019, I was a research assistant in the Centre of Excellence in IoT and Telecommunications, University of Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Yuan has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Communication Letters, EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, and the Lead Guest Editor for two special issues in IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking and China Communications. He is the Founding Chair of the IEEE ComSoc OTFS Special Interest Group (OTFS-SIG).
