"I HAVEN'T had a bath for three weeks. Will you lick my pussy?"
"Sure," grins Dean of WEEN part man, part rock star, and excellent guitarist.
"Totally," says Gean, a man of genuine wit, and a singer with a surprisingly good voice.
"Let Me Lick Your Pussy" off their multi-personality debut double album, "God Weer Satan", makes use of Prince's "Shockadelica" and "Alphabet Street".
"We hope we get into a lot of trouble," says Dean, straight-faced. "We hope Prince calls us and tries to sue us.
There is God and Satan and in the middle there is Ween the Jan And Dean of goon rock. Although they signed to Twin Tone two years ago, they only recently got around to recording anything. Women are a big factor in their life and probably so too are The Butthole Surfers, since they can boast of playing with them when they were 15. They are based in Philadelphia and have trekked to London just to track down Pink Floyd's David Gilmore, to kick Robyn Hitchcock's ass, and to vaguely promote the LP. Produced by Henry Rollins' bassist, Andrew Weiss, it's full of songs like "Never Squeal On A Pusher", which ends with the sound of a chainsaw, the suddenly schizophrenic "Nicole", or worse, (ie better), the very Black Flag "You F***ed Up You Nazi Whore".
"We just sit down and write some cool titles and they inspire the music," adds Dean.
So is Nicole the Nazi bitch?
"No, she's my first love," replies Gean. "The Nazi bitch is my stepmother
