Leigh Ann and Taylor share the kind of love that is inspiring in every way. We witnessed this during their first look when all they wanted to do was make the moment last forever. They spent several minutes just showing each other all the details of their wedding attire and catching up on the morning. And then there was some twirling. Well, there was a lot of twirling. The best kind of twirling. Because Leigh Ann chose a dress that was perfect for it, and it was truly meant for her because it made her the happiest bride, and I could tell that Taylor just loved the joy on her face all day long.

In 2010, when Iceland became the hot destination it is today, I started photographing weddings in the Icelandic landscape. The beautiful landscape with majestic waterfalls and dreamlike lava fields, combined with ethereal light, is the perfect backdrop for a wedding shoot.

Please note: Holga photos are delivered digitally only. The film is sent to a lab for processing, and the scans are sent back to me. I will then add these to your existing wedding online gallery and alert you by email.

After the wedding, I collect both the memory cards that contain images from your wedding. When me and my second photographer shoot, the images are automatically recorded to CF cards and the SD cards, in our cameras.

I'm pretty new to self-hosting, I've set up a few things that I like to play with on my unraid server but I finally had my first real-world 10/10 use case! I just got married and rather than having everyone text us photos or pull them off social media where they get compressed I instead set up a read/upload only shared folder on NextCloud that I sent the link out to all the wedding party and rest of our friends/family and everyone's been uploading photos and it's worked flawlessly!

When it comes to Hoboken wedding photos, I always love to take advantage of the cobblestone streets. For Allie and Chris, we continued taking their wedding portraits throughout Hoboken neighborhoods and on a cobblestone street nearby their wedding venue (Hudson Table). I personally love the contrast between their waterfront photos and the more urban backdrops. We finished at the 14th Street Viaduct, where their families met us for a few photos before the wedding ceremony began! We finished off a few minutes early so they could relax a little, and I could sneak up and photograph the ceremony and reception setup before guests arrived!

After the wedding ceremony, Allie and Chris went right into their first dance as husband and wife. Halfway through, guests started to join them. It was such a celebration of love. After the dance, cocktail hour could begin!

What a perfect fall day it was for Emily and Dan to finally have the wedding of their dreams at The Bluestone in downtown Columbus! It was a brisk early November day and the leaves were still full of gorgeous fall color.

After some time with the bride and groom waling around the Bluestone, we met up with the rest of the wedding party on the trolley and headed to the nearby Topiary Park for a little fun and some group portraits.

I am from the UK and when we do get sunshine, our weddings can quite often get the high harsh light. I shot a wedding in this the other week, and as much as the guests love the sun it makes it hard for portraits. Your most recent wedding looked bright at Ponte Vineyard, but you executed the images with no one squinting. Would you be able to post on how you work your magic? ?

Light is so important to what we do, and I just want to know how to make it work for me.

3. Use natural reflectors.

I've said this a thousand times before, I rely heavily on natural reflectors on really bright days. Natural reflectors are elements in nature or the environment that help push light back onto my subject when s/he is strongly backlit. Because the sun was so bright on the wedding day, I relied on illuminated portions of red clay/dirt in front of the bride to reflect warm light back onto my subject's face. You can read more about natural reflectors on my blog (here, here, and here), but I was able to leverage the light coming from the ground, which worked out well for JD (who captured this photo).
