Effective date: 27 September 2026
Topic Monitor ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") lets you follow topics, prices, and web pages and receive notifications when something new appears.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we process, why we process it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and what choices and rights you have.
The App does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, password, or other directly identifying information.
On first launch, the App generates a random identifier (UUID). This identifier is stored on your device and on our server and is used to associate your monitors, settings, and notifications with the same installation.
The UUID is not intentionally used by us to identify you by name or otherwise establish your real-world identity. However, depending on applicable law, a persistent identifier may be considered personal data or an online identifier. We therefore handle it with appropriate privacy and security safeguards.
We process a randomly generated UUID to keep your monitors, settings, and notifications associated with your installation.
The UUID is stored on your device and on our server.
We process your app language and time zone to provide events and summaries in your preferred language and to suggest relevant local topics.
This information is stored on our server.
We process:
topics you create;
your answers to clarifying questions;
monitoring intervals;
filters;
source language; and
other settings you choose.
This information is used to perform the monitoring and searches you request and is stored on our server.
We process events found for your topics, including:
event titles and summaries;
source URLs;
your feedback such as "more like this" or "not relevant";
events you hide; and
AI breakdowns or analyses you request.
This information is used to provide your feed, improve subsequent searches, prevent duplicate results, and provide features you request.
It is stored on our server and may be cached locally on your device.
We process push notification tokens to deliver notifications and refresh widgets.
These may be stored on our server and processed by OneSignal and Apple Push Notification service.
If you dismiss an idea in "Find topics", we store this information so that we can avoid suggesting the same idea again.
We do not intentionally collect your contacts, photos, precise location, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
The App does not display advertising and does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
We use the information described above only to:
provide and operate the monitoring features;
search for and identify new information matching your topics;
generate summaries and explanations that you request;
personalize search results and topic suggestions;
send push notifications you have enabled;
provide and refresh widgets;
prevent duplicate or repeatedly dismissed results;
maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the service; and
comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Where data protection laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply, we process information on the following legal bases, as applicable:
Performance of a contract: to provide the App's monitoring, search, feed, notification, and related functionality that you request.
Legitimate interests: to maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service, improve the reliability of searches, and prevent duplicate results, where our interests are not overridden by your rights.
Consent: where consent is required by applicable law, including for optional processing or features that require your permission.
You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
We use a limited number of service providers to operate the App.
We use the Anthropic API to perform AI-assisted web searches, process monitoring requests, and generate summaries.
Depending on the feature you use, the information sent to Anthropic may include:
the text of your topic;
your answers to clarifying questions;
relevant feedback or examples you provide; and
URLs of events or web pages that you ask the App to analyze.
Your UUID is not intentionally included in requests to Anthropic.
Anthropic states that, by default, inputs and outputs from its commercial services, including the Anthropic API, are not used to train its models unless the customer explicitly opts in or otherwise submits material for training.
Anthropic's standard retention period for API inputs and outputs is currently up to 30 days, subject to applicable exceptions.
We use OneSignal to deliver push notifications.
OneSignal may receive information such as:
your push notification token;
the identifier associated with your installation;
app language; and
time zone.
OneSignal acts as a service provider/processor for customer data under its applicable data processing terms.
We use Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver push notifications and widget refresh signals.
APNs receives the information required by Apple to deliver these notifications, including push notification tokens where applicable.
Our application server and database are hosted on a virtual private server located in the European Union.
Some of our service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
Where applicable, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses and other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
Widgets read a copy of your latest events stored locally on your device in a shared app container.
Notifications may contain the title and a short summary of an event so that you can understand why you received the notification.
Notifications and widgets are optional.
You can disable notifications for individual topics in the App or through iOS Settings, and you can remove widgets at any time.
We retain your monitors, settings, and events for as long as necessary to provide the service and while you continue to use them.
When you delete a monitor in the App, its associated events are deleted from the App's active data.
Deleting the App from your device removes the local copy of your data. Because the App does not use an account, deleting the App does not by itself provide a reliable way for us to determine that a particular server-side UUID belongs to a person who deleted the App.
You can request deletion of all server-side data associated with your UUID by:
using "Delete all data" in the App, where available; or
contacting us at webmonitor@priles.dev and providing the identifier shown in the App's Settings.
We will process valid deletion requests within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Third-party providers may retain information according to their own applicable terms and retention policies.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Access to our server-side systems is restricted to authorized personnel.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at webmonitor@priles.dev so that we can take appropriate steps.
Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply to you, you may have rights including:
access to your personal data;
correction of inaccurate data;
deletion of your data;
restriction of processing;
objection to certain processing;
data portability; and
withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
Because the App does not require an account or directly identifying information, we may need your UUID or other information sufficient to identify the relevant data before fulfilling certain requests.
You can contact us at webmonitor@priles.dev to exercise your rights.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland and believe that your privacy rights have been violated, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
