Deacon Melvin L. Braswell, 78, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on September 1, 2025. Services are entrusted to Webb Undertaking.

Dr. Melvin Leroy Braswell, a devoted servant of God, beloved family member, and faithful leader, was called home to glory on September 1, 2025, his 78th birthday.

Born on September 1, 1947, to the late Dr. Grayson Braswell and Flora Mae Braswell, Dr. Braswell grew up with a strong foundation of faith, family, and service. Throughout his life, he embodied those values and shared them generously with everyone he encountered.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Mrs. Cynthia Mae Braswell, with whom he shared a life filled with love, faith, and partnership in service. Their union was a shining example of God’s grace and devotion.

Dr. Braswell was a man of wisdom, humility, and unwavering faith. He dedicated his life to the service of the Lord as a deacon at both Tabernacle Church of God in Christ and Holiness Chapel Church of God in Christ, where his leadership, prayers, and example touched countless lives. To know him was to witness a true man of God—steady, kind, and always willing to encourage others in their walk with Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory a host of loving siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family, and dear friends. His life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of love, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul at peace with his Savior.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." – Matthew 25:21
