Melanie L. McLoud, 89, passed away on May 29, 2025, at South Regional Medical Center. Services are entrusted to D. T. Webb Undertaking & Cremation.
Melanie was born on June 3, 1936, in Hurtsboro, Alabama, to the late James McLoud and Ethel McLoud. Raised in a loving and faith-filled home, Melanie was one of six siblings: Arthur, Timothy, Loretta, Ella, and Willie Mae. Their bond, forged in the red clay of Alabama and strengthened by trials and triumphs, remained unbreakable throughout their lives.
From a young age, Melanie possessed a quiet strength and deep wisdom beyond her years. She carried the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion into every chapter of her life. A lifelong member of her local church, Melanie’s faith was the cornerstone of her journey.
She was united in holy matrimony to Bishop Elijah K. Henderson, a union grounded in love and devotion. Together, they served their community faithfully, offering prayer, support, and open arms to all who crossed their path.
Melanie will be remembered for her warm spirit, gentle counsel, and the way she welcomed everyone with kindness and grace. Whether offering a plate at her table, a word of encouragement, or a listening ear, Melanie’s love touched generations.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and service, cherished by all who knew her. She now rests in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her, and wrapped in the embrace of her Heavenly Father.
A homegoing celebration will be held to honor her life and spirit. Details will follow for family and friends to gather and give thanks for the beautiful life of Melanie Londyn McLoud.
