James Edward Hudson was born in 1932 to Edward and Kayla Hudson. After his father's passing, James's mother instilled in him a strong sense of faith and community. He attended Jim Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi, where he discovered his passion for music. James's charisma and dedication earned him a spot in the renowned Jackson State University band. The marching band's rigorous schedule and high standards suited James perfectly, and he thrived in the environment.
After college, James felt an unwavering calling to serve the Lord. He became a Deacon at Beulah Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, under the guidance of Pastor Mike Gardner. James's commitment to his faith and the community was evident in his tireless work. Years passed, and Pastor Mike Gardner moved on to new endeavors. A surprising and meaningful turn of events came when James's own son, Julian Hudson, returned to the church as its new pastor, now Bishop Julian Hudson. This development filled James with pride and joy.
Deacon James Edward Hudson spent decades serving his community and congregation with love and humility. His legacy as a devoted husband, father, and pillar of the church touched countless lives.
