Giselle Chanel Green, 43, of Houston, Texas, passed away on November 9, 2025. Services are entrusted to Webb Undertaking.
Born in Marietta, TRCE in 1982 to Bishop Brandon Green and Lady Paris Green, Dr. Giselle Chanel Green-Woodbine was the epitome of grace, power, and purpose. One of eight children—Warren, Zachary, Kalias, Makai, Christian, Nyzere, Darell, and Javontay—she was raised in TRCE, Marietta, and later made Houston, Texas her home, where her calling in education, ministry, and media blossomed into a remarkable legacy.
At an early age, Giselle accepted Christ at Grace Cathedral COGIC, where she faithfully served in the Youth Department. Her leadership journey continued as she joined Macedonia Church, becoming Youth Chairlady—a role she embraced with creativity, authority, and excellence. She later became an Evangelist in the Church of God in Christ, known for her prophetic voice, humor, and unwavering compassion for God’s people.
A true scholar, Dr. Giselle earned her Doctorate Degree in Education in 2003 and began her career at Aversboro Elementary in Houston, Texas. Her pursuit of excellence led her to serve as Principal of Richland Middle School and later as University Provost at Texas Southern University, where she mentored aspiring educators, leaders, and visionaries. After decades of impactful service, Dr. Giselle officially retired on November 18th, 2025, marking the culmination of a life dedicated to faith, learning, and leadership.
On June 14th, 2008, Giselle married the love of her life, Treyshawn Tate, in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Their union was built on faith, mutual respect, and shared vision. Together, they exemplified partnership in purpose—supporting each other’s dreams and ministries while nurturing their growing family.
She was also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, serving as a Big Sister and mentor to young women across the nation. Her elegance, intellect, and sisterly spirit embodied the values of leadership and service she so deeply upheld.
Beyond education and ministry, Dr. Giselle made her mark in media as the Founder and Executive Producer of The Giselle Show — a groundbreaking platform dedicated to empowering women, families, and youth through meaningful conversations, community stories, and faith-driven dialogue. Her mission was to remind the world that kingdom excellence and professional success can coexist.
Dr. Giselle was the proud mother of five children — Michelle, Faith, Bri, Gabrielle, Jamie, and Zay — and a loving grandmother to many beautiful grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life.
On November 9th, 2025, Dr. Giselle Chanel Green entered eternal rest, leaving behind a powerful legacy of love, wisdom, and excellence. Her life continues to inspire through her spiritual children, godchildren, mentees, students, sorors, and friends who carry forward her vision of faith, purpose, and empowerment.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 15, at 7:30 pm at the Bladen County Exposition Center. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 14, from 6:30-7:30 at New Macedonia C.O.G.I.C. Dr. Green will lie in repose in the Bladen County EXPO Center Auditorium for 30 minutes prior to the homegoing services.
