Deacon Ess Rosevelt Satterlee of 4705 Bankhead Dr, Fort Mill SC, died Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at the Maple Hospital.
Deacon Ess Rosevelt Satterlee, a cherished jewel of faith and community spirit, passed away on Saturday, September 6th, 2025. Born on June 6th, 1938, in South Carolina, of Fort Mill. He was a man whose life was a testament to dedication, love, and resilience.
He received his formal education from the York County School District, where he attended the George Fish School. His faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was a devoted member of the Tabernacle COGIC for 50 years, where his voice graced the choir, Started as a Trustee, and ended as a Deacon.
“Buck”, as he was affectionately called by many, was well-known in his community for his industrious spirit, having operated a laundromat for many years. His commitment to loving others and his joyful presence were felt by all who knew him. He had a passion for fishing, finding peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Mother Esther Ann Crane-McLoud, and Deacon Charlie L. Barlow. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Mother Myrtle McLoud, child: Evangelist Katrina A. Brook; a host of grandchildren and his TAB and Jerusalem Church Family; his caregivers, Ms. Barbara Freeman and Mrs. Ada Little; and a wide circle of friends and relatives who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 19, at 6:30 pm at Greater Hurts Chapel M.B.C. Interment will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park. Deacon Satterlee will lie in repose at the altar of Greater Hurts Chapel for 30 minutes before the homegoing services; this is when the family will receive visitation.
