Cameron Josiah Hicks, 48, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on July 28, 2025. Services are entrusted to Webb Undertaking.
Dr. Cameron Josiah Hicks was born July 26, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia to Sandra Faye Hicks and Clarence Webb. Cameron was raised quietly at home with his mother and lots of brothers in sisters. He was very vibrant at his church and was a lead soloist in his choir until the age of 18. When he graduated from high school in 1995 he immediately deployed to the marines and honorably served for 5 good years. Until his high school sweetheart Donna Jones became pregnant with his first child Layanna. He left the marines with an honorable discharge and quietly married and had his first daughter. He then went back to school at the prestigious Morehouse College to receive a degree in Medicine where he would pursue a full time job at Maple Hospital. Cameron was an active member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church serving as a deacon. He was a pillar in the community, a leader, a teacher, and a mentor. He was preceded in death by his late wife Donna, his son Julian, and his grandson Jamari. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and his community.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 7, at 7:00 pm at Shiloh M.B.C. Interment will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park. A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, at 6:00-6:30pm at the Undertaking Company. Mr. Hicks will lie in repose at the altar of Shiloh for 30 minutes prior to the homegoing services.
