How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want to turn two people into one conversation on a shared Plantronics setup, choose Weatwo Training Y Splitter; if you need a single complete plug-and-play headset for one person at a desk, choose awatrue USB Headset.
• Weatwo Training Y Splitter — biggest strength: it lets two Plantronics QD headsets share one device at the same time, so a supervisor and a trainee hear and speak on the same call.
• Weatwo Training Y Splitter — biggest trade-off: it is a cable, not a headset. You still need two Plantronics QD headsets plus a QD connecting adapter, and it will not work with Jabra GN, Yealink, MAIRDI or Sennheiser EPOS gear.
• awatrue USB Headset — biggest strength: one box, one USB-A plug, no drivers, and you are on a call. A 40 mm dynamic driver, a noise-cancelling mic and a light pink on-ear frame are all included.
• awatrue USB Headset — biggest trade-off: it is built for one wearer on one computer. No splitter function, no sharing, and it is wired to USB-A only.
• Who each pick is for: Weatwo for call center supervisors, trainers and QA staff running live coaching on existing Plantronics hardware; awatrue for an individual agent, student or remote worker who just needs a working headset today.
The Weatwo Training Y Splitter solves one very specific problem: two people, one phone line or one PC, both listening and both able to talk. It is a 131 cm (4.3 ft) Y adapter that attaches to two Plantronics quick disconnect headsets and feeds them into a single device — either a computer through a USB QD adapter or a desk phone through a Plantronics QD Polaris cable. Inline volume and a mute switch sit on the cord, so whoever is holding it can kill the mic without reaching for anything else.
Who should buy it? Call center supervisors, team leads, QA reviewers and trainers. If your floor already runs Plantronics H-series or HW-series headsets — H251, H261, HW291N, HW301N, HW710, HW720 and similar — this lets you sit beside a new hire and coach in real time instead of hovering over one earpiece or calling back after the fact. It also plays nicely with same-style QD headsets from TruVoice, VoiceJoy, Wantek and Daily. The PU jacket and flexible cable protect the copper conductors inside, which matters when a splitter gets yanked around a training desk all day.
awatrue USB Headset: Who It's For
The awatrue USB Headset is the opposite kind of purchase: a complete, self-contained solution. You get one wired USB-A headset in light pink with a 40 mm dynamic driver, a 32 ohm impedance, a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range and 95 dB sensitivity — numbers that point to a normal, clear voice-and-multimedia headset rather than an audiophile piece. The microphone is noise-cancelling, which is the feature that matters most on a call.
Who should buy it? A single agent, rep or student who wants to plug into a USB port and start talking with no drivers and no setup. The on-ear circular cups, adjustable headband and plush cushions are aimed at long shifts, and the whole thing is deliberately light so it does not clamp down after hour three. The included drawstring pouch makes it easy to toss in a bag for a hybrid week — office Monday, kitchen table Tuesday. awatrue lists it for call centers, customer service, remote work, online tutoring, gaming, video calls and online learning, and the pink finish at least makes it easy to spot in a shared drawer.
Who should skip it? Anyone who needs two people on one line, anyone on a USB-C-only laptop without an adapter, and anyone who wants active noise cancellation — the spec sheet says noise control is "None," so the noise-cancelling claim applies to the microphone, not the earpieces. It is also a one-person tool by design. There is no sharing mode.
• Best for live call coaching and side-by-side training → Weatwo Training Y Splitter. Two headsets, one conversation, inline mute and volume.
• Best for a single agent starting from zero → awatrue USB Headset. Headset, mic, cable and pouch in one purchase.
• Best for mixed-use work and play → awatrue USB Headset. Music, meetings, gaming and tutoring all run through the same 20 Hz–20,000 Hz driver.
• Best for comfort over a full shift → awatrue USB Headset. Lightweight on-ear build, adjustable headband, plush cushions.
• Best for durability in a shared training room → Weatwo Training Y Splitter. PU jacket and flexible cable wrapped around copper conductors.
• Best for portability → awatrue USB Headset. The drawstring pouch is included; the splitter is a fixed 4.3 ft cord.
• Worst fit for either: buying the Weatwo splitter without Plantronics QD headsets, or buying the awatrue headset expecting it to serve two people.
My Verdict
In my opinion, the awatrue USB Headset is the safer buy for most people reading this, because most people need one working headset for one person, and it arrives complete with a mic, a USB-A cable and a pouch. I would pick the Weatwo Training Y Splitter only if you are already running Plantronics QD headsets and your actual job is supervising or training someone on a live call — that is a narrow but genuinely useful niche, and nothing about a normal USB headset replaces it. Decide which of those two people you are, then check the current price on Amazon before committing, since cable accessories and full headsets sit in very different budget brackets.
It is just a cable. You supply two Plantronics QD headsets and one QD connecting adapter, then connect to a PC via USB QD adapter or to a desk phone via a Plantronics QD Polaris cable.
No. Weatwo states it is not for Jabra GN, Yealink, MAIRDI or Sennheiser EPOS. It fits Plantronics QD headsets and same-style QD models from TruVoice, VoiceJoy, Wantek and Daily.
No. It is plug-and-play over USB-A, so it works as soon as you connect it. There are no drivers to install, and volume and mute sit on the inline button control.
Not the way the Weatwo splitter can. The awatrue is a single-wearer headset, so the second person would need their own headset and a separate connection to hear the conversation.
They solve different problems, so value depends on your setup. If you already own Plantronics QD headsets, the Weatwo splitter adds training capability for the cost of one cable. If you own nothing, the awatrue headset gets you call-ready in one purchase. Check the current price on Amazon for both before deciding.
