Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does the left-hand navigation not work on the University of Akron's archive webpage?
A: Unfortunately, it is an internal error with the webpage that is currently waiting to be fixed in an update. Some collections at the moment do not have functioning left-hand searches for now, but it is set to be repaired soon.
Q: Can I donate materials to expand the collection?
A: Yes, you may! Instructions are under the 'donation instructions' page, where you can contact either the Weathervane Community Playhouse or the University of Akron Archives and Special Collections.
Q: Will this project be continued?
A: At the time of writing (May 2025), the first stage of this project is complete. The Weathervane playhouse hopes for a stage two, depending on funding.
Q: It looks like this playbill is missing a page or a chunk of a page. Is it loading incorrectly?
A: More likely than not, it is in fact loading correctly. Some playbills are missing pages or have otherwise had sections cut out, likely to be put into a scrapbook by the original owner. In every instance when it was available, we selected a version of the playbill that was the most complete and legible, but there were occasions where there was only one copy available and therefore had to be scanned in, damages and all. To tell if there is a loading error, however, you can download the file and the downloaded version will have all of the correct data.
Q: Can I use images of the playbills from the UA Archives and Special Collections website on my own webpage/published article?
A: Yes, but you must include a credit to the University of Akron as you would with any standard copyrighted materials.Â
