Innovare ("we", "us") built AuraWeather (formerly "Current Temperature & Simple Weather Forecast") as a weather app. It is free with ads, and offers an optional paid subscription, AuraWeather Premium. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and who it is shared with.
Precise location (GPS): only if you allow location permission. It is used to show the weather where you are. You can use the app without it by searching for a city.
Approximate location: the coordinates of the city you choose, and the general area derived from your IP address by our ad and analytics providers.
Locations you save are stored on your device only. To get a forecast, the app sends the coordinates (not your identity) to OpenWeather. The rain-radar map sends the map area you are viewing to RainViewer and CARTO to load map tiles.
Which screens and features you use, settings you change, and app performance. Collected through Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
Crash reports and diagnostic logs (device model, OS version, app version, and the error itself). Collected through Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix bugs.
The Firebase app-instance ID, used for analytics and push notifications.
The Android advertising ID, used by Google AdMob to show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud. You can reset it or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
If you subscribe to Premium, Google Play processes the payment. We never see your card or payment details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchase history (plan, purchase date, trial and renewal status) and an anonymous app user ID, so it can confirm your subscription and restore it on a new device.
If you turn on notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging gets a device token so we can send weather alerts and daily summaries. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in Android settings.
We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or files. The app has no user accounts.
To provide the app: forecasts for your location, alerts, the home-screen widget, and Premium features.
For analytics and crash reporting, to improve stability and features.
For advertising: free users see ads from Google AdMob. Premium subscribers see no ads.
For fraud prevention and security.
We do not sell your personal information.
Google AdMob: advertising ID, approximate location, app interactions and diagnostics, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. How Google uses data
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config): app-instance ID, app usage, crash reports and device token, for analytics, crash reporting, notifications and app configuration. Firebase privacy
RevenueCat: anonymous app user ID and purchase history, to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat privacy policy
Google Play: purchases and payments, for billing. Google privacy policy
OpenWeather: coordinates of the forecast location, for weather data. OpenWeather privacy policy
RainViewer and CARTO: the map area being viewed and your IP address, for radar and map tiles. RainViewer privacy policy · CARTO privacy policy
EEA, UK and Switzerland: the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
Location: you can deny or revoke location permission at any time and search for cities instead.
Ads: you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in Android settings. Premium removes ads.
Notifications: you can turn them off in the app or in Android settings.
Settings, saved locations and cached forecasts stay on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by Firebase according to its retention settings (for example, Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days). Subscription records are kept by RevenueCat and Google Play for as long as needed for billing and legal obligations.
To ask about or request deletion of data linked to your device, email us (address below).
All data the app sends is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

We may update this policy. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page, with a new "Last updated" date.
