Lighthearted and quirky is an interesting ... Okay. Um, lighthearted and quirky, I'm Dominique Bana's little bitch (laughing). But, um, serious, I'm a, like a, a show host, talk show host, interviewer, and a writer and a performer.

Quinn Marcus:

Mm-hmm. Um, where it will live is, um, HBO, knock on wood, um, (laughs). And then if that, if it doesn't go to HBO, then let's say Netflix. We'll just say all the networks and then you edit the one in that it goes to Showtime, Comedy Central, HBO, Paramount+, Hulu, um, YouTube, uh, the Taxicab, the Gas Station TV, Literally we're looking for anything (laughs).

Um, yeah, so I actually been like, you know, doing talk shows ever since Emerson days, uh, with MTV and then making pilots for Comedy Central and Pop and ABC Digital. And so I've been pitching talk shows my whole time in LA and I, I was really focused on like celebrity driven, um, talk shows. And then I just, uh, turned 30 and I was like, "Oh, what do I really want to put out in the world?" And so I actually connected with my friend, our friend, uh, Figs, Matt Figler from Emerson as well.

And I contacted him and I was like, I loved working with him on a couple short films he was a DPO, and I was like, "Dude, let's just like make something," 'Cause you know, when you go out to LA you, I mean for me, I lost my less little, my soul and-

And so this project was like, I had to do a lot of the hands on producing that I never had to do before. And at the beginning I was like a little bougie about it. Like, I was like, "Hmm, interesting, I'm having to do this." But actually the in product is so much better because it has my fingerprints on it from the beginning, you know? So I, I actually learn that, I think it's important if you're hosting a show to be there the whole time, which again is why I think this one is probably better than the other ones that I've done.

I remember moving to LA and people would say all these like, um, give advice. And I just remember like really being like in my head I was like, "That doesn't pertain to me, but, but I'm different." And it's like now I can look back at every piece of advice and be like, I was no different. I have the same stories as everybody else, but your ego really is a, a tricky little bitch.

Like I do feel like my comedy is just my personality and now I'm more open to being like, my interviews are longer and less hard comedy all the time. I feel a little more confident in my other parts of my brain. And so I think it's, yeah, I think I learn a lot. Like we're editing the pilot right now and I'm watching it and I'm, I'm like, "Yes." I'm having like honest revelations like on camera. So I think for me, like comedy is therapy in like the whole aspect of it.

Georgette Pierre:

Right. That's so interesting 'cause I've never heard it put that way. Um, Dominique, so you have a non-profit organization that you were co-founder of called The Neighbor's Backyard. Can you tell us a little bit more about the initiatives, um, what that looks like and what led you to even being part or starting your own nonprofit?

Dominique Banas:

I am, I actually, I I grew up, you know, I'm, I'm Filipino so we, we did sing a lot. We have a lot of karaoke in our, in our family. So I think my little child dream was to be a pop star, but sometimes recently I'm like, "Should I have been a, can I be a florist?"

We chatted with series stars Steven Strait and Dominique Tipper about what it was like to bring The Expanse to a close after it was canceled and saved, how the absence of one crew member and the addition of another will affect the dynamic on the Roci, and what their biggest hopes were for their characters in the final episodes.

"But there were a couple moments in the cave in Talokan between Shuri and Riri that really work to establish, I think more of a sisterhood between them. It connects them a little bit more on the things that we all associate with these two women, which is their intellect, their brilliance, the naturally occurring brilliance that they possess. In some of those cave sequences we got to see them notice that in each other, which, for both of these characters is almost like a breath of fresh air and also something completely new."

One of the stars of the defense was rookie defensive end Dominique Robinson. Robinson was supposed to be a project when general manager Ryan Poles drafted him in the fifth round. Robinson came to Miami (OH) as a quarterback. He moved over to wide receiver and again to defensive end. He is still a raw player.

The NBA Hall of Famer and two-time dunk contest champion showed his fire again Saturday in leading Team Bosh to a victory in the shooting stars competition, which opened the night's contest show. Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh and Chicago Sky forward Swin Cash joined Wilkins in the three-player tournament.

Torres was introduced on Chicago P.D. in Season 9, Episode 18, titled "New Guard," as a new recruit assigned as Halstead's (Jesse Lee Soffer) partner. It quickly becomes clear that Torres is extremely guarded, and he reveals little about himself. But he has the natural instincts to become a good cop and is a strong asset for Halstead.

Kate Hudson, who stars, seems to be following in the footsteps of her mother, Goldie Hawn; both have genuine talent, but choose too often to bury themselves in commercial formulas. Hudson plays Helen Harris, a high-powered Manhattan career woman who works as the personal assistant to Dominique (Helen Mirren), the head of a famous modeling agency. She works hard, is on call 24-7, and even when she parties, she's talent-scouting. She has a sister named Jenny (Joan Cusack) who lives in the suburbs and raises her children as a disciplined time-and-motion study. Jenny's house, Helen observes, looks like a showroom at the Pottery Barn.

Tragedy strikes. Their sister Lindsay (Felicity Huffman) and her husband are killed in an accident, and in her will, Lindsay leaves custody of her small son and daughter, not to Jenny the perfect homemaker, but to Helen the fast-track girl. How can this be? Helen and Jenny are both appalled, but Helen takes on the task of raising little Henry and Sarah, played by real-life siblings Spencer and Abigail Breslin.

If Helen has any notions that she can be a mom and keep her agency job, she's disabused by Dominique, who expects total dedication. Soon Helen has lost her job, moved her little family to a lower-middle-class neighborhood in Queens, and enrolled the kids in a nearby Lutheran school run by Pastor Dan (John Corbett), who is single and therefore preordained to fall in love with Helen, although not before many plot-laden details have been worked through. She gets a job in a car dealership run by the unfailingly dynamic Hector Elizondo.

Garry Marshall is a smart director with more of a comic edge than this movie allows him. I wonder if at any point he considered darkening the material even a little, and making Hudson's character a shade more desperate and less Lucy-like. There's nothing at risk in "Raising Helen." We're not even surprised the kids go to Helen and not her sister, because the sister is written in a way that makes her impossible as a parental candidate.

Crenn currently holds a total of four Michelin stars, three for her flagship restaurant, Atelier Crenn, and one for her wine bar concept, Bar Crenn, located next door. Atelier Crenn was awarded two Michelin stars in 2013, making Crenn the first female chef in the US to earn two stars. This was upgraded to three stars in the 2019 guide and, in another first, Crenn became the first female chef in the US to earn three stars.

Dominique Thorne started her acting career off strong and continues to rise in the Hollywood scene. In 2018, the 25-year-old actor landed her first major film role as Sheila Hunt alongside Denzel Washington and Viola Davis in the Oscar-winning \"If Beale Street Could Talk,\" but her acting projects haven't stopped there. Three years later in 2021, Thorne shared the screen with Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield in \"Judas and the Black Messiah,\" in which she portrayed a fictional Black Panther member named Judy Harmon. \nWhile she was cast in supporting roles in her previous films, Thorne is now shaking up the world as Ironheart in the upcoming \"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.\" Outside of being a Marvel fan herself, Throne also admires the complexity of her character, Ironheart\/Riri Williams. She explained to Entertainment Weekly, \"I love the fact that she is just fully herself . . . She's definitely not the typical or traditional superhero.
